Developer Niantic has announced more AR features for Pokémon GO. The buddy feature is set to become more realistic, and you can even interact with friends there.
What is announced? On their blog, Niantic writes about the development of AR features in their games. They state that they want to further develop Pokémon GO, focusing primarily on the buddy feature.
They present the “Buddy Adventure” and explain that you can interact with your buddy and even explore the virtual world together with friends.
Buddy Adventure in Pokémon GO – What is it?
This is how the feature is supposed to work: With Buddy Adventure, you can see your buddy in AR mode and interact with him. However, the exact details of how this will work are not known.
Additionally, you should be able to observe your friends’ buddies through the AR camera. So when you’re out together, you can also see how your friend interacts with his buddy.
This is how it should become even more realistic: Niantic wants to introduce occlusion in their mode. This allows your virtual objects to disappear behind, for example, door frames or walls. This makes it look even more realistic.

When will this feature come out? Nothing is known yet about this. It is only stated that they are working on it and it will be released in the coming months.
What does this mean for Pokémon GO? This function enhances the AR element in Pokémon GO and makes the game more realistic.
One can also imagine that tasks will be set that are related to this feature. After all, already now you need to achieve quests like landing snapshots. Something similar could also be expected with Buddy Adventure.

Furthermore, it was announced that small and medium-sized enterprises will soon be able to apply for sponsored PokéStops. There, advertising for the company will be made in the game. This feature will start this winter in the USA. When it will come to Germany is unknown.
