Finally, we can find Mewtwo in Germany. The special monster only appears at a few Pokémon GO gyms so far.
In recent weeks, EX-Raids (exclusive raids) have been tested in parts of Asia and America. In Europe, we haven’t benefited from this yet, but only looked enviously at the other trainers.
Now there has been a new wave of invitations to exclusive raids spreading across Europe. Trainers in Germany can now receive invitations to Mewtwo raids.
Mewtwo Raid in Germany
For a long time, trainers in Germany and other countries had to wait for this moment; finally, the first Mewtwo raids are coming to us. The EX-Raids are still being tested and are not available to “everyone”. Just a few hours ago (in the night of September 20, 2017), the first lucky trainers received an EX invitation at German Pokémon gyms.
More detailed information is currently being gathered. Based on initial experiences, these raids should only take place at sponsored gyms. In Germany, this means Unibail locations. We are collecting the German locations on Facebook and here in the comments to get a better overview.
On Reddit, trainers confirm that at least in England, raids are also taking place at non-sponsored gyms. There was a Pokémon GO event recently at those locations in England.
This seems to be the largest wave of EX-Raid tests that the developers have launched so far. Trainers in our Pokémon GO group on Facebook are actively posting their screenshots of Mewtwo invitations. This invitation was received by Patricia L.:
Due to this large test expansion, experts in the community believe that raids will soon be available at additional non-sponsored gyms. When that will be, we cannot currently say for sure.
Those who do not have an invitation yet should not be disappointed. Niantic may still change the frequency and locations of the raids during testing:
During the field test, we will regularly adjust the EX-Raid battles in terms of eligibility for participation, frequency, start time, location, and duration to make them engaging and rewarding but, most importantly, to provide more fun and incentives for trainers who frequently participate in raid battles.
