In datamining of Pokémon GO, experts found a new type of quest. It sets you a time limit for raids. Find out here how this could work and why it’s exciting.
What’s new? Regularly, dataminers look into the code of Pokémon GO to find out what is happening behind the scenes of the game. In the latest datamining, they found
- new quests
- content for the Community Day with Kaumalat
- details about the event with Flegmon
- a small change to the ticket of the GO Fest
We show you here what the dataminers found and why it could become more exciting in Pokémon GO with the new quests.
Quests for raids with time limit
This was found: On reddit, user martychochrane shares the latest findings of the datamining from PokeMiners (via reddit.com). The team from PokeMiners has often discovered changes in the code of the game that were ultimately also released in the game. So, you can trust the findings. However, it is unclear when the changes will be implemented in the game.
The new quests look like this in the code:
+RESOURCE ID: quest_beat_raid_singular_minutes +TEXT: Win a raid in under {0} minutes +RESOURCE ID: quest_beat_raid_singular_seconds +TEXT: Win a raid in under {0} seconds +RESOURCE ID: quest_evolve_slowpoke_plural +TEXT: Evolve {0} SlowpokeTwo quests require you to complete a raid with a time limit. Minutes and seconds are mentioned. Another new quest requires you to evolve a certain number of Flegmon.
What does this mean? It seems to be tasks that give you a time limit for completing a raid. Generally, raids already have a time limit. With these quests, that could be reduced again, so a new challenge awaits you in battles against the bosses.
However, it is unclear for which difficulty levels this applies. These may be event quests related to the Flegmon event “A Very Slow Discovery”. Because the event mainly revolves around slow Pokémon. As a joke, it could be the quest where you have to defeat the slow Pokémon quickly.
In connection with the Flegmon event, texts for challenges and the title of the event were also found.
Higher chances for XL candies
What is this? The following findings are likely to appear as part of the “Today” view in the game, as the dataminers write. However, it is still unclear whether and how to unlock them.
+RESOURCE ID: breakthrough_free_remote_raid_pass +TEXT: Remote Raid Pass from Research Breakthroughs +RESOURCE ID: breakthrough_xp_double +TEXT: 2× XP from Research Breakthroughs +RESOURCE ID: catch_candy_xl_chance_double +TEXT: 2× chance to obtain Candy XL +RESOURCE ID: catch_candy_xl_chance_triple +TEXT: 3× chance to obtain Candy XL +RESOURCE ID: raid_weekend_bonus_candy +TEXT: Bonus Candy Raid WeekendIt concerns
- Free remote raid pass from research breakthroughs (already available with Perlu in the game)
- Double XP from research breakthroughs
- Double chances to earn XL candies
- Triple chances to earn XL candies
- Additional candies during a raid weekend
Community Day and GO Fest findings
What’s new for Community Day: The texts for the ticket with Kaumalat have been updated in the code. This is a common change that occurs for every Community Day.
This is what was changed regarding the text for the GO Fest 2021:

Previously, it stated that the tickets for the GO Fest will be discounted “only” this year to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Pokémon GO. This could be a minor correction or indicate that tickets may be offered more frequently in the future.
