In Pokémon GO Ignivor and its evolution Ramoth are available starting today. However, obtaining the two monsters will not be easy.
Where do the monsters come from? In Pokémon GO the event ‘An Intuitive Hero’ has started. This not only brings a new special research, but also two new Pokémon: Ignivor and Ramoth.
However, Ignivor cannot be found in the wild but only in eggs. It can be found during the event in
- 2 km eggs
- 5 km eggs
- 10 km eggs
Ignivor is not present in the 7 km and 12 km eggs. But even with the other eggs, it is expected to be difficult to obtain the new torch Pokémon. Because it seems that it will be extremely rare.
Ignivor ends up in the rarest category – This requires many candies
That’s the problem: While you can get Ignivor in three different egg categories, the chances are not good that it actually hatches.
Because in all three egg pools, Ignivor falls into the rarest category. Accordingly, it is rather unlikely that you will get an Ignivor once the egg is hatched.
However, it will be even more difficult to obtain the evolution Ramoth. You need a whole 400 candies for that – a difficult task considering that you cannot collect Ignivor in the wild.
The low chance of getting Ignivor from eggs combined with the high candy requirement for Ramoth makes the evolution a monumental task.
The community is not well-received with the high rarity of Ignivor. In the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” for Pokémon GO, a trainer shared the egg pool of the 10 km egg, which also shows Ignivor’s classification.
Players comment:
- “Well, I guess it’ll be a buddy if I manage to hatch one. Or one waits for the inevitable Community Day, someday” says a user (via reddit)
- “Even if one has huge luck and hatches one, you still have to walk forever until you can evolve it” (via reddit).
- “I’ll just wait for its Community Day 2025” says a user (via reddit).
Some users compare the monster to eF-eM, which was also very hard to obtain for a long time and required 400 candies to evolve.
The event is currently largely about eggs, so in addition to the new Pokémon there are also double XP and double Stardust for hatching. Furthermore, there is an increased Shiny chance for some Pokémon from 2, 5, and 10 km eggs. However, what is missing is a bonus on hatch distance – that is not reduced.
Recently, there has been increased criticism in Pokémon GO. A large discussion arose about the remote raids, which became more expensive and are limited to 5 per day. More about the criticism of the remote raid changes can be read here.
