In Pokémon GO, the current event “Day and Night” has been improved for you. The developers announced an important change on June 21 that will please affected players.
What kind of event is this? Since June 16, the event “Day and Night” has been running and revolves around Pokémon that are active either during the day or at night. However, the event caused problems and frustration for players in the first days with its spawns.
Now Niantic shows that they have seen the problems and presents a solution that the community is quite satisfied with.
Players are thankful for the change
What has Niantic done? In the early morning of June 21, Niantic’s support account posted a message for players on Twitter. They write (via Twitter):
Trainers, we have updated “Day and Night” so that Pokémon that are nocturnal will appear from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM local time until the end of the event.
Why is this change so important? In recent days, there have been frequent complaints that the night spawns of the Pokémon were very hard to find. The “Collector’s Challenge Night” is available for all trainers. If successfully completed, they will be rewarded with stardust and a Pokémon encounter.
However, trainers had trouble finding the night Pokémon for this task. After a few days, players from the community showed that one can have luck with an early walk and find the required Pokémon.
Nevertheless, a part of the player base was still dissatisfied with the tasks. Especially the players for whom the night cycle is very short. That Niantic is now intervening and easing this task pleases this part of the players.
What do the players say about it? On Twitter, players thank for the change. Especially players in time zones where nights are very short feel heard. “These are wonderful news. Especially for players with midnight sun. Thank you!” writes PossumPicnic on Twitter.
There are also many jabs in the comments that Niantic took a few days for this change instead of reacting earlier. “People are still angry because it’s obviously a bit late, but you did change it, great job to you!” writes CholorikMadness.
Others write that they do not like the change. They had put in effort in the first days or were out at night on purpose to solve the task. Now it would become much easier for the other players.
Also on Reddit, the change is a hot topic. Here, user blackmetro writes:
Meanwhile, those whose daily rhythm is unclear or limited, could not fully experience the event.
This is a great change.
I know it doesn’t help to confront the people who were previously mentioned (who stubbornly claimed that the previous day/night setting was Niantic’s intention), but I hope they will take a look at themselves and rethink their future comments before posting anything.
