What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is a recurring 60-minute event. During this event, there is at least one Pokémon in the spotlight, along with a bonus.
During the next Spotlight Hour on March 18, 2025, you will encounter Shellder, the Water-type Pokémon from Generation 1. And it brings you, along with the event’s bonus, the opportunity to earn a lot of Stardust.
Spotlight Hour on March 18, 2025 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As every week, the Spotlight Hour starts on Tuesday at 6:00 PM. One hour later, at 7:00 PM, it ends again.
Which bonus is active? In this Spotlight Hour, you will receive double the amount of Stardust when you catch Pokémon.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? While Shellder and its evolution may not be particularly interesting from a combat perspective, Shellder brings a different feature. It is on the list of Pokémon that give more Stardust with each catch.
If you catch Shellder, you will normally receive 1,000 Stardust for each catch. With the bonus during the Spotlight Hour, the amount even increases to a solid 2,000 Stardust per catch.
If you also use the item Star Piece, you will receive an additional 50% more Stardust per catch. This means you can earn a whopping 3,000 Stardust for each Shellder caught.
Can you catch Shiny Shellder? Yes, with a bit of luck, you can also catch Shellder in its Shiny form.
