In Pokémon GO there is currently a filled Rocket Box available for free in the shop. This is to apologize to the players. Because some Shinies could not be found in recent days.
What kind of box is this? If you visit the Pokémon GO shop in the game for the first time today, at least two free packages will smile at you. One of them is the free daily box, which gives you items every day.
The other box is black and simply called “Bonus.” This is Niantic’s new gift.
What’s inside? In the black bonus package, you will receive 19 items that are useful for your adventures for free. These are:
- 10 Poké Balls
- 3x Rocket Radar
- 3x Revive
- 3x Hyper Potion
Are you still looking for Crypto Mewtwo in the Odd Development? Then the three Rocket Radars will help you.
This is the mistake Niantic wants to make up for
What happened to the developers? The backstory for this gift is the accidental disabling of certain Shinies in Pokémon GO. A post on reddit sparked a big discussion on Tuesday afternoon. “Did Niantic accidentally turn off Shiny Cryptos?” (via reddit.com)
Some players wrote that they saw the last reports of the shiny Crypto-Pokémon on October 20. However, they could not find any in recent days. Until October 20, daily screenshots were shared, then it suddenly stopped.
This is what Niantic says: After the post on reddit was already actively discussed, Niantic’s support reached out via Twitter.
“Trainers, we have fixed a bug that prevented Shiny Crypto-Pokémon from appearing in Pokémon GO. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and will provide affected players with more information soon.”
Afterwards, they further elaborated on their apology for the mistake:
“Trainers, a free box with 3 Rocket Radars, 10 Poké Balls, 3 Hyper Potions, and 3 Revives is now available in the shop and will be accessible to all trainers until November 10 at 6:00 PM PT [November 11, 2:00 AM CET]. We apologize again for the mistake and thank you for your patience as we worked on a fix.”
Do you think Niantic’s gift makes up for the fact that the Crypto-Shinies were disabled for a week, or would you have preferred a larger gift?
Another surprise this month is the Community Days. Instead of hosting one per month as usual, Niantic is bringing two of these events in November. Here’s what we know about the Community Days in November featuring Electabuzz and Magmar in Pokémon GO.
