Have you ever encountered a Galar bird in Pokémon GO or caught one? It’s not that easy. A trainer, on the other hand, had double the reason to be happy.
What are Galar birds? The three legendary Galar birds are special versions of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. You can only find them in Pokémon GO when you use the daily adventure incense – an item that provides special spawns for 15 minutes when you move around.
However, the encounter is not guaranteed; on the contrary. The birds are characterized by three things:
- They are extremely rare to encounter, even with adventure incense.
- If you encounter them, they have an extremely low catch rate. So they probably won’t stay in the first ball you throw.
- And thirdly, they have an extremely high flee rate. This means: If they don’t stay in the ball, there is a high chance that they will flee immediately.
Due to these circumstances, Galar birds have become one of the rarest catches, since they were introduced in summer 2022. To this day, players repeatedly state that they still don’t have any, and some have not even encountered them.
However, for one trainer, it went in a completely different direction.
Trainer catches 2 Galar birds in one go – players can hardly believe it
This is how a trainer describes it: A user commented on the Pokémon GO subreddit and showed his haul from the daily adventure incense. It included: two successfully caught Galar birds, Zapdos and Articuno.
The trainer mentions having the “happiest 15 minutes” and also explains that he didn’t actually aim for that. Just the chance of seeing both at once is low, but then also catching both is quite something.
However, the user improved his chances a bit, as he caught Zapdos with a Master Ball – even though he didn’t really want to: “I was a bit sad because I already had a Zapdos and didn’t want to use the Master Ball for another one, but my son begged me, lol,” he writes.
But then Articuno suddenly appeared: “I thought ‘this must be a joke, I should have waited’, but then I somehow caught it. Now I need to trade Zapdos for a Moltres, and then I’ll have the trio.”
This is what other trainers say: In the comments, other players can hardly believe what the trainer has caught.
- “One of the biggest flexes I have ever seen here,” writes one trainer (via reddit).
- Another writes that the trainer caught more Galar birds in 15 minutes than he has ever: “I have no Galar birds” (via reddit).
- “Had to look twice to make sure you didn’t catch the whole trio in one go. You probably used up all your luck for the next month” (via reddit).
- “How the hell do people see multiple birds with just one adventure incense?” asks another (via reddit).
- “Oh man, people are flexing with their bird catches and I, the unlucky one, still haven’t seen one” (via reddit).
