The Pokémon GO Egg Event is bringing new Shinies into the game. These are shiny forms of certain baby Pokémon.
Today, on March 22, the Egg Event in Pokémon GO starts. One of the features of this event is that a wider variety of Pokémon can hatch from the 2km eggs. Reports indicate that Niantic apparently has another surprise for trainers, related to shiny monsters.
Shiny Magby, Togepi, and Woingenau for the Egg Event
Before Niantic officially announced the Easter Event 2018, player Chrales from the Pogodev team had already discovered what rewards the event would bring. He shared this leak with the community.
Now, Chrales found more news about the Easter Event, related to shiny forms of certain monsters. The shiny variants of the following Pokémon have now appeared in the network traffic of the game. It is suspected that these can be hatched during the event.
- Magby,
- Magmar,
- Togepi,
- Togetic
- and Woingenau
A little help for identifying Shiny Togepi: It has a red triangle in the middle – the “normal” Togepi has a blue triangle in this spot. The opposite is true for Togetic: Shiny Togetic has a blue triangle in the middle, while the normal Togetic has a red triangle.
Keep in mind that these forms have not yet been discovered while playing Pokémon GO, but have only been found in network traffic. This is therefore a leak that does not guarantee that these shiny monsters will actually appear in the Easter Event 2018.
The shiny forms of other baby Pokémon like Isso or Pii have been in network traffic for a while.
However, this leak is supported by the announcement image of the Easter event from Niantic. It features Togepi, Magby, and Isso.
Shinys after Easter in the game?
It is unclear whether you will still receive the shiny forms of Magby, Magmar, Togepi, Togetic, and Woingenau from eggs when the event is over. Therefore, you should take advantage of the event when the Shinies are confirmed and go on a hunt. Collectors shouldn’t miss out on these special monsters.
