In Pokémon GO a new event is starting. Shiny hunters should plan to take a walk or two.
What event is starting? The “Buddy Class” event will start in Pokémon GO – all information can be found here.
When does the event start? Buddy Class starts on January 20 at 10:00 AM. It ends on Sunday, January 25 at 8:00 PM.
What are the highlights? The highlights are an increased shiny chance for Goldini and Hefel. The latter is appearing as shiny for the first time. Additionally, much revolves around evolving Pokémon. We summarize how to make the most of it here.
Catch Shiny Goldini and Shiny Hefel
Shiny Hefel: Hefel is appearing as shiny in Pokémon GO for the first time, but receives an increased shiny chance during the event. You can:
- Search and catch it in the wild
- Hatch it from 2 km eggs
Shiny Goldini: Shiny Goldini was already in the game but now also receives an increased shiny chance.
- You can find it in the wild
- Shiny Goldini can also hide in 2 km eggs
You should keep in mind that even an increased chance with shinies is no guarantee to find them. So try to catch every specimen you encounter.
Evolve Pam-Pam, Evoli, and Pamamo
The second highlight is the simplified evolution of certain Pokémon. The following creatures can be evolved more easily during the event:
- Evoli evolves into Feelinara with 20 buddy hearts. Use Evoli as your buddy Pokémon and complete various interactions.
- Pam-Pam evolves into Pandagro when you use it as a buddy and catch 10 Dark-type Pokémon during that time.
- With Pamamo, you need to walk 5 km as a buddy to evolve it into Pamomamo.
As additional buddy bonuses, you should be able to earn more hearts and receive extra XL candies during walks together.
In addition to the event, spotlight hours and raid hours are also taking place this week. Furthermore, you can look forward to more interesting events until the end of the month. Among other things, a takeover by Team GO Rocket is still on the way! As usual, we summarize all the information for you here: All events in January 2026 in Pokémon GO.
