Pokémon GO will soon launch a major PvP league, and data miners are already providing an initial glimpse into the new feature.
This is the PvP league: Last year, Niantic first introduced this new feature. Under the name “GO Battle League,” you should be able to duel against trainers worldwide and advance in leagues. In the end, rewards await you.
There will be seasons, and all 3 leagues will play a role. In each battle, you must choose 3 different monsters.
So much has already been known about the PvP league. Now, data miners have found more exciting information about the league in the code of Pokémon GO.
Here is the information about the PvP league
Completely new menu: According to the data miners, there is a completely new menu for the league. Things like battle statistics, your league rank, and the status of your VS-Seeker will be displayed.
These battle statistics will be available: Many of your data will be recorded, and you can review them later. There will be information about:
- the number of battles
- the number of friendship battles
- the amount of stardust earned
- your longest win streak
- your current win streak
- your total number of wins
This information about the seasons is known: A timer has been found that displays the duration of the season. It counts in days and hours. Therefore, a season is likely not to last too long, as otherwise, things like months could also be counted.
There will be rewards for completing the season. However, you can only collect these at the end of the season. At the end of the season, your rank will also be reset to zero. So you will have to play your way back up for each season.
As a reward, stardust and Pokémon encounters will likely await you. Further rewards are not yet known or discovered.
These are the requirements for the battle: It seems that the Pokémon you can use are also bound to the respective season. This could be similar to the PvP league of TheSilphRoad , where you have to fight with different types monthly. However, how the monsters are restricted here is not known yet.
Some Pokémon can only be unlocked during the season or as you level up. So it could be that particularly strong Pokémon are only unlocked with a higher rank.
Before the battle, you must set a reward level. It is unclear whether there will also be restrictions in the battle.
Here you need to invest money: The data miners have found information about free battles and premium battles. It seems that you have to invest money for some battles. This might be similar to raids, where you have one free raid pass per day and have to buy the rest in the shop.
There is also a limit to the battles. Where exactly this limit is, and whether there is also a limit for premium battles, has not been found out yet.
This is known about the VS-Seeker: This is an item, which first appeared during datamining in summer 2019. Now, there is significantly more data about it, and it seems that the item will be used soon.
The VS-Seeker seems to function a bit like a battle ticket. You can charge the VS-Seeker by walking and use it for a battle or redeem a premium item.
It appears that you can also walk longer with the VS-Seeker and charge it for multiple battles consecutively. It is not known whether there is a maximum for this.
When could the PvP league come? Niantic has only announced the feature for spring 2020. Given that so much information has already been found in the code, the release may not be long off.
Currently, there is also a faulty quest in Pokémon GO:
