The PvP League is approaching in Pokémon GO and now there is a new leak showing potential rewards for the league. Among them are new and rare Pokémon.
What is the PvP League? This feature is the next big novelty in Pokémon GO and is set to debut this week. There will be a worldwide league where you can compete against each other in PvP mode.
Just last night, on January 28th, first trainers had access to the league, but they were kicked out after a few minutes.
A highlight is said to be special Pokémon that you can earn there. If the leak is true, they could indeed be monsters that are quite attractive.
Are these the rewards for the big PvP League?
Where does the information come from? This information was gathered by the data miners “Pokeminers“. They have been constantly leaking and have correctly predicted several novelties in Pokémon GO. They refer to findings in the app’s code.
The rewards are divided as follows: Initially, there will be a distinction between Premium and Basic. Both groups offer different rewards. You will likely receive the Premium rewards if you gain access to the league with a battle pass. You have to purchase this pass beforehand in the shop.
You can rank up in a total of 10 ranks. The higher the rank, the better the rewards. At each rank, there are a total of 7 different bundles of rewards. According to the data miners, you can receive a bundle after each battle.
This is what the rewards look like: None of the items are particularly exciting rewards. Only the quantity surprises here and there. Depending on the rank, you can receive between 300 and 4800 stardust. You can obtain up to 7 rare candies or 5 TMs from a battle.
At each rank, you can also receive a Pokémon as a reward. However, this varies by rank, and the Pokémon become increasingly rare as the ranks go higher:
- Rank 1-3: Snorlax, Machop, Snivy, Oshawott or Tepig
- Rank 4-6: All Pokémon from the previous ranks, Panzer Aeron, Meditite or Zurrokex
- Rank 7-9: All Pokémon from the previous ranks, Lapras, Larvitar or Shielder
- Rank 10: All Pokémon from the previous ranks, Kapuno or Litwick
What kind of new Pokémon is this? Starting from rank 4, you can obtain Zurrokex. Its evolution Irokex is an interesting Pokémon for PvP. It learns, among other things, the quick charged attack Power-Up Punch.
Whether it will actually be unlocked at the start remains to be seen. Currently, the Pokémon is not yet in the game and would therefore represent a new PokéDex entry for everyone.
What can be said about the other Pokémon? Especially Litwick and Kapuno sound very interesting. The Pokémon are very rare in the wild and also rarely found in 10 km eggs. As a reward in the PvP League, they would certainly increase interest.
Additionally, Niantic announced that you can also obtain Wrestler Pikachu. However, this is still completely missing from the list. It might simply be added as one of the ranks.
This is important: So far, this is still a leak. It is not yet clear whether the rewards will actually look like this and how precisely they will be distributed. Therefore, one should approach the leak with caution.
