In Pokémon GO, many trainers are eagerly looking forward to the new season. A new find now provides the first hints about what players can expect in the coming weeks. We at MeinMMO have looked into what it’s about.
What’s happening in Pokémon GO? The Season of GO is slowly coming to an end and will have its big finale with the final event for GO Fest 2022. But what comes next? What will the next season be about?
These questions have certainly been on the minds of some trainers in recent days, but they cannot be answered at the moment. Except for the dates for the next Community Days, Niantic has not commented on this yet.
However, the Pokéminers, a group of data miners, have found various text passages in the source code of Pokémon GO that could provide the first clues about upcoming Pokémon. We’ll show you what they’ve discovered.
The Pokéminers are a group of data miners who regularly search the game code of Pokémon GO for new information. They then make this data publicly available to all players.
Through their findings, they have accurately predicted numerous changes or debuts in the past. However, since there is no official information, there are no guarantees that it will actually be implemented.
These texts were found
What was found? As reddit user martycochrane reports in his post, the Pokéminers have once again set out to search for new information in the game code (via reddit.com).
During their search, they came across several texts related to Campfire and the GO Battle League, especially new information about the upcoming finale event. A central theme will be the dialogues between Professor Willow, who will reappear at the end of the season, and Rhi.
They will talk to you about the observations they made in connection with the Ultra Wormholes and the underlying dimension. According to the Pokéminers, a statement from Professor Willow during the 4th special research related to the finale event could provide insight into the further progress of the game.
What does Willow say? The professor describes that he was “surrounded by a protective presence” in the so-called Ultra Space, which was “warm like the sun and calm like the moon.” Specifically, this looks like in the source code (via pokeminers.com):
+TEXT: No, it was more than a feeling. It was like I was surrounded by a protective presence—warm like the sun and calm like the moon.
In the further course of the dialogue, Willow suddenly sees something in the sky, which he cannot pursue as he suddenly feels incredibly tired, so you should go check it out.
+TEXT: Wait. Is there something in the sky? I’d investigate myself, but… *yawn* I suddenly feel like I lost a staring contest with a Hypno.

+TEXT: You and your Pokémon should go check it out. I’ll be here. Just give me a…minute… +*snore*
Will Solgaleo and Lunala celebrate a release soon?
Which Pokémon could play a role in this? The hints Willow gives all point to the legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala. These come from the 7th generation of games and are the evolutions of Cosmog and Cosmovum.
Visually, especially Cosmog and Cosmovum resemble the universe and various celestial bodies. While Solgaleo initially looks like a simple white lion at first glance, its mane is said to represent the sun. This is further emphasized by the orange and yellow decorations.
Lunala, on the other hand, is primarily recognized by its bat-like arms and its dark blue to purple body. When Lunala closes its wings, its appearance resembles a night sky with stars and golden crescent moons. Thus, it also visually represents the counterpart to Solgaleo.

For this reason, Solgaleo and Lunala also adorn the covers of the main games Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.
Additionally, both monsters and their pre-evolutions belong to the Psychic type, which could hint at the sudden fatigue Willow experiences after his sky observation.
What happens next in the dialogue? However, the specific monster in question and how the story continues is not resolved in the further dialogue. After Willow falls asleep, Rhi tells you about these statements, but also leaves you somewhat in the rain. He only hints that he looks forward to further adventures together.
Trainers suspect a release during the new season
When would a release be conceivable? The information from the Pokéminers is generating considerable anticipation in the reddit community. Since the legendary monsters have not yet been announced for the remaining season and the dialogue is not finalized, it is to be expected that the legendary monsters will not come into the game until later.
However, as a change of season is just around the corner, many trainers think it likely that Solgaleo and Lunala could be part of the next season. Some even hope for a special Ultra Space season. This is what is being said in the comments (via reddit.com):
- krispyboiz: “My suspicion is that there will be a season themed around Ultra Space where you will work with Rhi and Willow to conduct research. Perhaps you will receive Cosmog at the beginning of the season and there will be Solgaleo and Lunala raids at the end. In the meantime, they might bring us a week for each of the UBs [Ultra Beasts] that we have already received or at least a few days, maybe debut a few new ones, and some non-Alola bosses like Deoxys, Giratina, and/or Darkrai.”
- galeongirl: “Sounds like a good release for December 21. Plenty of time to lure them in.”
- repo_sado: “I doubt it will last the whole season. I bet we’ll get them by mid-November.”
- Deltaravager: “I’m so ready for Lunala and Solgaleo. They are my favorite legendary pair. I’ve been saving over 1000 candy for more than a year so that I can get them to level 40 as soon as I get them.”
A release like with Hoopa? Other trainers, like Arturinni, expect that Niantic will once again tease the Pokémon in their dialogues for a long time. This was already the case last year with Hoopa, which also played a central role on the last day of GO Fest, but then only became available to trainers weeks later.
A similar scenario could also happen with Solgaleo and Lunala. Arturinni writes in the comments on reddit: “I can’t wait for them to tease us with Solgaleo and Lunala all season long.”
Whether and when the legendary monsters will actually appear in Pokémon GO remains to be seen. Since the data found is not official information, Niantic could also decide at any time to adjust anything.
However, if there are any new updates regarding this, you will definitely find out here on MeinMMO.
What do you think of the current findings from the Pokéminers? Do you think that Professor Willow’s hints point to the legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala? And when could you envision a release? Feel free to share your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers about it.
