The Water Festival 2023 is just around the corner from Pokémon GO. Two new Pokémon will be activated, a global challenge will be launched for you, and a limited research task will be offered for sale. We will show you the details and bonuses here.
What kind of event is this? The water events take place every year in Pokémon GO. Last year, the Pokémon Araqua celebrated its debut along with its evolution Aranestro in the game. This year, there are supposed to be new Pokémon and exciting content for you.
A sandcastle Pokémon is waiting for you this time along with its evolution at the water festival “Beach Week”.
Water Event – Start, Bonuses, Shinies, New Pokémon, and Research
When does it start? The Water Festival starts on June 6, 2023, at 10:00 AM local time. It is active until Monday, June 12, at 8:00 PM local time.
The new Pokémon: You can expect the Pokémon Sankabuh and its evolution Colossand as new Pokémon. Evolving into Colossand costs you 50 candies.
What bonus is there? Rain lure modules last twice as long.
The global challenge: During the event, trainers around the world will work together on a challenge. The goal is to land a total of 300 million nice throws. If the goal is reached, you will receive the following bonuses until the end of the event:
- Additional candies for nice, great, and fantastic throws
- Trainers from level 31 have an increased chance of getting XL candies when catching a Pokémon with nice, great, or fantastic throws
Limited research for €6: A ticket is available in the shop for about €6, with which you can unlock a limited research task for the event. If you complete the tasks in it, you can unlock a surfer pose for your avatar and additional encounters with event Pokémon.
New Shiny: For the first time, you can encounter Shiny Scampisto in Pokémon GO!
Pokémon in the wild: During the event, you will encounter Tentacha*, Muschas*, Krabby*, Alola-Kokowei*, Seeper*, Sterndu*, Marill*, Wingull*, Wailmer*, Seemops*, Finneon*, Lithomith*, Quabbel*, and Scampisto* more often in the wild. With luck, you might encounter Mantax* and Robball. Pokémon marked with a star (*) can be found as Shiny with luck.

Pokémon in field research: Field researches you receive during the event can bring you the following Pokémon: Lapras with scarf*, Quabbel*, Bithora*, Scampisto*, and Sankabuh. Additionally, you can get Mega Energy for Turtok and Sumpex.
