Today, on October 1, 2021, a new event called “The Secrets of the Jungle” has started in Pokémon GO. We at MeinMMO have looked at which Pokémon and bonuses await you.
What kind of event is this? On the occasion of the new Pokémon movie “Pokémon – The Movie: Secrets of the Jungle,” which celebrates its debut on Netflix on October 8, 2021, there will also be a thematically appropriate event in Pokémon GO. You can expect a lot of monsters and bonuses.
When does the Jungle Event start? The Jungle Event starts on October 1, 2021, at 10:00 AM local time and runs until October 10, 2021, at 8:00 PM local time. You have a few days to take advantage of all the bonuses.
All Pokémon for the Jungle Event
On the occasion of the Jungle Event, there will again be a variety of Pokémon to catch. All Pokémon that you might encounter in their shiny form have been marked with a (*).
The new Raid Bosses
Just in time for the Jungle Event, the Raid Bosses in Pokémon GO will also change. From October 1, 2021, at 10:00 AM to October 12, 2021, at 10:00 AM local time, you can encounter the following monsters:

Especially interesting is the mysterious Pokémon Genesect, which can impress primarily with its high attack value in the game. It belongs to the Bug and Steel types, which is why it only has a weakness against Fire attacks. Which counters you should use against Genesect have been summarized here for you.
Genesect also has various forms. During the event, you can catch it for the first time in its special form Aquamodul. You can recognize it by its purple body and the blue decoration on the back of its cannon. Unfortunately, you can’t hope for a shiny in this form at the moment.
Wild Spawns
Also in the wild, you can encounter numerous monsters during the Jungle Event. Keep an eye out for the following:
- Research-Pikachu*
- Hoothoot
- Larvitar*
- Wadribie
- Rotomurf
- Waumboll
- Lithomith*
- Raupy*
- Myrapla*
- Digda*
- Dusselgurr*
- Kiesling*
Pokémon through Photo Bombs
If you take a snapshot of a Pokémon, like your buddy, during the event, this photo might be interrupted. If this happens, you will encounter one of the following monsters and can try to catch it:
- Meowth*
- Woingenau*
The new Pokémon Zarude
As with other events, there will also be a special research task for this one. As a reward, you will receive the Dark-type Pokémon Zarude for the first time. This Pokémon is the focus of the new movie and thus cannot be missing in Pokémon GO.
This Pokémon belongs to the Dark and Grass types. It has neither a pre-evolution nor a further evolution. You can recognize it by its black, ape-like body, red eyes, and green rings on its arms.
All Bonuses for the Jungle Event
In addition to numerous Pokémon, there will also be some bonuses for you during the Jungle Event. Below we have summarized everything for you:
- free avatar items (Adventure Hat and Wailmer Water Bottle)
- special field research tasks
- Special Research “Search for Zarude” with Zarude as a reward
- Jessi and James come in the Meowth Balloon (even until October 15, 2021, at 10:00 AM)
