In Pokémon GO you can now catch Entei, Raikou, and Suicune in the wild and take snapshots of them. But it has its challenges.
What’s going on today? On this Saturday, February 26, 2022, the big Johto Tour is taking place in Pokémon GO. Surprisingly, the game’s developers sent the legendary Pokémon Entei, Raikou, and Suicune into the wild. So you can now encounter and catch these legendary Pokémon on your journey.
You should be able to find them in the wild to take snapshots of them.
Finding Entei, Raikou, and Suicune in the Wild – Find and Take a Snapshot
Why is this important? At the start of the Johto Tour, trainers were surprised (via reddit.com). Because suddenly the legendary beasts Entei, Raikou, and Suicune appeared in the wild. At first, people wondered if it was a bug. Although Niantic announced these legendary Pokémon for the event, they were previously known only from raids and not from the wild.
These Pokémon are strong attackers which are also popular in raids. Therefore, it is important for many players to catch these Pokémon. Since this now works in the wild, you should definitely take advantage of the Johto Tour and look for the Pokémon in the wild.
This spawn in the wild also appears for trainers who did NOT purchase a ticket.

What you need to keep in mind: Before starting your catching attempt, you should definitely take a photo. Because in the Today overview, you will find three tasks for the “Photo Safari.” They require you
- “Take a snapshot of Raikou in the wild”
- “Take a snapshot of Entei in the wild”
- “Take a snapshot of Suicune in the wild”
So you need to take the photos before you catch the Pokémon. This also works if you can catch the Pokémon after a successful raid. However, it has to be before you have them in your collection.
What is the difficulty? Once you have found the Pokémon in the wild, that’s only half the battle. Trainers report that they are really hard to catch. So you should definitely use (golden) razz berries, throw ultra balls, and try to throw great curveballs if possible. Trainers report that the normal forms (so not the shinys) can also flee. So throw carefully!
It is somewhat different with shinys. You know from raids that legendary shinys stay in the ball with the first throw. This is not the case with wild spawns. However, trainers report that the legendary shinys Suicune, Entei, and Raikou will not flee. But they also won’t stay in the ball with the first throw.
