What’s new? On January 20, Niantic released further details about the big Johto Tour, which will take place in February 2022. This is an event that you can participate in for free. However, those who purchase tickets will receive additional bonuses.
The new information includes a development bonus for Eevee. The developers introduced some Pokémon that you will see more frequently during the event.
More easily develop Umbreon and Espeon during the Johto Tour
These are the bonuses: In the updated blog post, the developers from Niantic write about the following bonuses: Some popular Pokémon that were first found in the Kanto region have developments that come from the Johto region. In the Pokémon GO Tour: Johto, some Pokémon that were first found in Kanto will appear more frequently in the wild. You will encounter the following Pokémon more often from 09:00 to 21:00 local time:
- Quaputzi
- Golbat
- Duflor
- Flegmon
- Onix
- Chaneira
- Seemon
- Sichlor
- Porygon
- Eevee
It doesn’t matter whether you have a ticket or not. These spawns will be visible and catchable for all players.
Additionally, there is a bonus for Eevee. During the event, there will be no distance requirement for developing Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon. Normally, you need to walk at least 10 kilometers for these targeted developments of these two Pokémon if the one-time name trick is no longer available to you.
This is how trainers react: Trainers respond positively to the bonus for Umbreon and Espeon on reddit . JRE47 writes “Okay, this IS good” and emphasizes that Umbreon and Espeon can also learn old Community Day attacks through developments.
