Pokémon GO is holding an event in Japan. This event brings a new shiny to the Japanese trainers, which might also find a place with us.
In the Japanese sand dunes of Tottori, Pokémon GO is currently holding an event. This event runs for an entire month and is mainly focused on a special Pokémon: Sandshrew.
We will tell you what this event entails and why it might also be interesting for us.
Shiny Sandshrew Family in the Game
Where is the event taking place? The event is taking place in the sand dunes around the city of Tottori in southern Japan.
Why exactly there? The vast dune landscape was already the venue for a Safari Zone last November. Back then, mainly water and ground Pokémon spawned there. Even Unown could be caught.
What can be caught there? This year, there is no Safari Zone, but an event centered around the ground Pokémon Sandshrew. The event runs until January 14, so longer than a month. The first players have already caught the shiny form of Sandshrew there.
Another new feature is the spawning of Alolan Sandshrew in the event area. Until now, this Alolan form could only be hatched from 7km eggs.
Is Shiny Sandshrew also available in Germany? So far, there have been no sightings of a Shiny Sandshrew outside the Tottori dunes. This might also be due to the fact that Sandshrew is one of the rarer Pokémon in the wild.
Is there also an event in Germany? Trainers can hope that this weekend the influx of Sandshrew will also come to Germany. During the Safari Zone in Taiwan, players could enjoy more frequent Pinsirs over the weekend after the Safari Zone started.
So one can hope that this weekend more Sandshrew will be found in Germany.
