Pokémon GO was the first successful AR game on the mobile market. Since then, Niantic has been working more and more on this factor. And even now there are further advancements.
What is new now? Pokémon GO introduced the new Buddy feature a few days ago, which allows you to interact more with your buddy Pokémon.
This feature has now been expanded. You can now take photos with friends and insert your Pokémon together into the real world.
Niantic makes Pokémon GO even more realistic
What is behind these AR features: Niantic’s vision has always been to make the little monsters appear in the real world with Pokémon GO. The developers have been working on this vision for 3 years, and with the new Buddy feature, they are taking another step in this direction.

If you want, you can now also see your friends’ Pokémon in AR mode and not just your own. It’s basically like in the anime. Every trainer walks around with their favorite, and every player can see it if they want.
How can you use this feature? You need to check your buddy menu again. There, next to the play button, there is also a new button for taking photos together.
There, you must scan your friend’s QR code or they scan your code. After a short wait, the normal photo mode appears, where you can also see your friend’s buddy. You will even see when your friend gives his buddy a berry. Your buddies can then stand side by side for photos.
What Niantic is also doing for more reality: This photo feature is not the only point that Niantic is addressing in terms of reality. They are currently developing glasses that should allow you to see the real world along with your video game.
So it could soon be that you walk around with AR glasses that display the Pokémon in the real world. You won’t have to look at your smartphone anymore.
The Pokémon are now also running totally crazy over the map. We show you 7 highlights here:
