The new Harry Potter game is not intended to interfere with Pokémon GO. Niantic plans improvements that will be announced this week.
With good news from Niantic, we start the new week. In a blog post, the developers of the mobile hit “Pokémon GO” explain that the game will soon receive changes. Other Niantic games should not be disadvantaged due to the development of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
No need to worry – improvements are on the way
In recent days, there has been unrest in the Pokémon GO community. The reasons for this were not only known issues in Pokémon GO but also the announcement of another title from Niantic.
The developers now want to focus on the Harry Potter franchise and create a magical mobile world. However, Pokémon fans have concerns about this.
Niantic now states that fans have no reason to worry. Pokémon GO still holds a particularly high value for them. In a blog post, the development team writes:
Trainers, just like many of you, we are looking forward to the new “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” game. We are working closely with our partners at Warner Bros. to bring this game to life.
Nevertheless, we, the Pokémon GO development team, want to assure you that we are 100% committed to creating a constantly evolving game world. Trainers should explore the environment, meet other players, and deepen their connection to the Pokémon universe.
We are actively expanding the development team to develop many great features in 2018.
They also write that there should be an announcement this week explaining the improvements for specific features.
Reassurance for fans? What improvements?
This announcement at least clarifies that the Harry Potter project will not interfere with Pokémon GO. This should reassure some fans who feared an overlap between the two projects.
But what improvements does Niantic want to bring? We hope that the developers have noticed the mood in the community and want to make some changes to the EX Raids. The invitation system for these special raids seems chaotic and repeatedly causes frustration among fans who are excluded from these raids.
