Pokémon GO has teased a big event with Team GO Rocket. Some players already have concrete suspicions about what will happen.
What is Team GO Rocket? Every main series Pokémon game features an evil team that engages in criminal activities and terrorizes the trainers of the Pokémon world. Since Generation 1, the franchise introduced “Team Rocket,” who have since tried to steal Pokémon to bring power and wealth to their leader, Giovanni.
However, the criminal gang appears not only in the Pokémon regions of Kanto and Johto, as well as in countless episodes of the anime, but they also exist in Pokémon GO. In the mobile game, you can face off against the villains at PokéStops and balloons and subsequently rescue their Crypto-Pokémon.

Update: We intercepted Team GO Rocket’s radio communications. Apparently, Giovanni has summoned all the bosses and grunts of Team GO Rocket to a special summit. We’ve heard rumors about takeovers before, but something about this feels… different.
There will also be a video on YouTube that will reveal more clues about the event. This video is equipped with a 24-hour countdown that will end on May 18 at 3 PM.
“Shadow Raids on the way?”
What do players suspect is behind this? Some players suspect that the release of so-called “Shadow Raids” could be imminent, which a group of data miners discovered in the game files in March.
Other players believe that Pokémon GO is creating a link to the upcoming release of the Master Ball, which will already be available in the game in May.
The basis of the theory is that players received the Master Ball in the first-generation games after defeating Giovanni and thwarting Team Rocket’s plans in Kanto.

The “Shadow” content in German refers to the Crypto content. Thus, a Shadow or Crypto Raid would focus on the strong Crypto Pokémon.
