Good news for trainers in Pokémon GO. Data mining shows that features for the friends list are on the way that you’ve been wishing for a long time.
What was found? Data miners from “Pokeminers” have closely examined the new update 0.173.0. Changes to incense, friends lists, power-ups, Wayfarer, and Raids from home were noted.
The changes to the friends list are likely to be well received by many trainers.
Friends list in Pokémon GO to be better sorted soon
As it stands: Those who have many trainers on their friends list in Pokémon GO can quickly lose track. Features to help sort are supposed to combat this. The list currently sorts
- by name
- by nickname
- by friendship level
- and by gift status (whether there is an unopened gift for you)
For a long time, trainers have reported wanting more sorting options. For example, a way to filter which friends still have room for a gift.
This has now been found: In data mining, the Pokeminers (via reddit) present four new filter or sorting functions that were found in the code of the update.
- Can receive a gift
- Can interact with them
- Is a lucky friend
- Friend’s level
For the fourth entry, “Friend Level”, the meaning is still unclear. One can already sort their list by friendship level with other trainers. Possibly, it refers to the trainer’s level of the friend.
The sorting by friends who can still receive a gift is particularly appreciated by trainers. On reddit, users write that they no longer expected such a function (via reddit). Others are happy about the functions that Niantic is currently finishing during the quarantine period.
Recently, features were introduced that allow you to now send many event Pokémon at once or apply multiple power-ups at the same time. With the new sorting functions for the friends list, Pokémon GO fulfills another significant wish of its trainers.
