In Pokémon GO, there should actually be bug Pokémon found everywhere now, but numerous players are complaining about too few bug spawns.

Players report on Reddit that Pokémon with weather bonuses are significantly more common than the actual event Pokémon. Many trainers are not noticing anything from the bug event, apart from the new quests and raids.

What players are complaining about: On Reddit , there are numerous posts about the low spawn rate of bug Pokémon. One user “Nawr” writes about the event: “My Nearby list is flooded with Wablu, Rattfratz, and Zigzacks. Great ‘Bug Event’, Niantic. No Raupy in sight.”
He receives a lot of support for this. The bug spawns in the event are indeed quite rare. Another player writes that he can’t even find 3 Ledyba or Weberak for one of the quests.
What is the problem with that? On one hand, a bug event was announced, and increased bug spawns are also expected. These have only been slightly increased.
On the other hand, due to the few bugs, it is indeed challenging to complete the event quests. For catching 10 bug Pokémon, there’s a chance for a Sichlor, which can also be shiny. But how can one complete multiple quests if the spawns are missing?
Has this happened before? There have been times in the past when there were fewer event spawns than usual, but in this case, it seems even less than before.
What the reason behind this is, can only be guessed. Perhaps Niantic wants to make the quests more challenging. Maybe the few spawns are not intentional and will be increased during the course of the event.
