In Pokémon GO is about to get really big! Niantic has announced the largest update of all time called GO Beyond. It brings Level 50, Generation 6, and Seasons.
This is what to expect: Niantic dropped a big bombshell and finally revealed what they have been working on for the last few months. In the coming weeks, several changes will come to Pokémon GO. These include:
- The introduction of a new maximum level – Level 50 is coming to the game
- Generation 6 will be introduced in Pokémon GO
- Pokémon GO will have Seasons, each lasting 3 months
- The PvP mode will be revamped with a new ranking system
When will all this be implemented? December 1 is the magic date. From then on, the changes will go live. However, the PvP mode will already be changed a day earlier, on November 30.
Level 50 in Pokémon GO – The new maximum level
This is what the new maximum level looks like: There will be a total of 10 new levels in Pokémon GO. You will reach Level 50. That is the new maximum in the game.
However, there will be significant changes when leveling up. From Level 40 onwards, it’s not just pure XP that matters for ranking up. Your skill is required.
For each level from 40 onwards, you will go through a small quest series. Only when you have completed these tasks and also have the required XP, you will level up.
The tasks vary and require all aspects of tasks. You will need to catch Pokémon, battle in the PvP league, or perform power-ups.
What about the current XP? To reach Level 40, you need a total of 20 million XP. All further experience points will continue to count and will now be relevant. For example, if you already have 100 million XP, you can use it to level up further.
An exact XP maximum is not yet known. It is still unclear how much XP is needed to reach Level 50.
How do Pokémon change at Level 50? Your level will not only increase, but also the level of your Pokémon. You can also push them to Level 50, provided you have reached this level yourself.

Generation 6 comes to Pokémon GO
How is Gen 6 coming? The Pokémon from the Kalos region will make their debut on December 2. Niantic mentioned 15 to 20 Pokémon that will appear for the first time in Pokémon GO. It is not the entire Generation 6, but only the first wave.
It will be introduced along with the first Season, which we will inform you about further down in the article.

Whether more Pokémon will appear remains to be seen.
Coinciding with the release of Generation 6, Niantic will also celebrate an event on December 2, which will last until December 8.
3-month seasons start with “Festive Season”
This is how the seasons work: This type of system is already known from other games, where they are called Seasons, and now Seasons under the name “Seasons” also come to Pokémon GO. The first season starts on December 1 and lasts for 3 months. It will be called “Festive Season”.
In each season, different themes and Pokémon will be in focus. You will find different spawns, eggs, and raids during those times. They are active whenever there is no event running.
Seasons are oriented around various themes. The real-world weather and the season play a role, but also other conditions.
The hemispheres are also important. While it is winter in the northern hemisphere, it is summer in the southern hemisphere. Accordingly, different monsters will appear there.
This is how Mega Evolutions change: Depending on the season, different Mega Evolutions are relevant. As a result, each Mega Evolution will shine more or less depending on the season. They will be particularly enhanced through the season and will therefore be generally stronger.
The PvP mode gets a new ranking system
This has been revealed: The PvP mode will also undergo a revision on November 30. While there were previously 10 ranks to climb, there will be 24 ranks starting in December.
The seasons in the PvP league will then also follow the general seasons in Pokémon GO. They will also last 3 months in the future. Previously, a season lasted about 1.5 months.
The top 4 ranks, from rank 21 to 24, are the hardest to achieve, and you will receive new medals when you secure a placement there.
In addition, you will receive exclusive rewards that will also be oriented towards the seasons.
