What event is it about? The current season of GO in Pokémon GO is coming to an end and a new 3-month season is already on the starting blocks. What it will be is not yet known. But especially one event will be an important part of it: the Halloween event.
The Pokéminers, a group of dataminers, have now found the first clues about the possible contents of the new season and specifically about the Halloween event. We show you what these are.
The Pokéminers are a group of dataminers. They regularly search the game code of Pokémon GO for new hints. In the past, they have been able to predict numerous innovations. All their findings are made publicly available to other players.
However, since the data does not constitute official information, you should always view it with a healthy dose of skepticism. The contents are not set in stone and can be changed by Niantic at any time.
These are the findings regarding the Halloween event & the new season
What was found? As user martycochrane shows on reddit, the Pokéminers have stumbled upon a series of new graphics in their current search in the source code of Pokémon GO. In addition to various Pokédex icons, their image shows graphics related to the universe, as well as 3 new Mega Evolutions.
Accordingly, the game code has been updated with the first data regarding Mega-Shuppet, Mega-Banette, and Mega-Gliscor.
What could the findings mean? Mega-Shuppet and Mega-Banette are Pokémon that would perfectly fit into the Halloween event due to their types. This will be an important part of the upcoming season.
Mega-Gliscor, on the other hand, fits less with this special event. However, it is a popular and particularly strong Mega Evolution among trainers, which is why many have been eagerly awaiting its release for some time. It may be possible that it will arrive soon.
The graphics related to the universe could also provide insights into the theme of the new season. The community has already been speculating wildly about this for a few days, as there is currently no official information available.
What do the trainers say about the findings?
Excitement for the Mega-Pokémon: The trainers of the reddit community are excited about the latest findings. Some particularly hope for a timely release of Mega-Gliscor and are already wondering when it will come into the game.
And Mega-Shuppet and Mega-Banette are also generating a lot of excitement among some trainers. Furthermore, most agree that these two must be part of this year’s Halloween event (via reddit.com):

What speaks against a timely release: At the same time, some trainers are also surprised that there are now three new Mega-Pokémon. Usually, Niantic is somewhat more reserved when releasing new Megas.
The players are therefore currently unsure whether both Mega-Shuppet and Mega-Banette will actually come for the Halloween event. This can be seen in the reddit comments:

Additionally, just a few weeks ago, a new Mega-Pokémon was added to the game data, which is already being awaited: Mega-Alakazam. Whether Niantic will actually release four new Mega Evolutions in the upcoming season remains to be seen.
Speculations about the upcoming season
Assumptions about the Ultra-Space-Season: But the new Mega Evolutions are not the only topic of conversation in the comments. The assumptions of a possible Ultra-Space-Season are also intensifying. The reason for this is the discovered graphics, which are said to show real space images from the James Webb Space Telescope.
So far, Niantic has kept information about the new season very under wraps, but just a few days ago, text passages were already found as part of the 4th special research for the finale event, leading to first speculations.
In a dialogue with Rhi and Professor Willow, Willow shares his observations and feelings during his time in Ultra-Space, which hinted at a release of 4 new legendary psychic Pokémon.
The space agencies NASA, ESA, and CSA have jointly developed a specialized space telescope, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). It is intended to assist in the exploration of space. To this end, it regularly sends images from space, such as the image of the planetary nebula, which was published on July 12, 2022 (via nasa.gov).
What does the community say? For the trainers, there is clearly a connection between the finds from a few days ago and the current space images, which is why you can read the following in the comments (via reddit.com):

Additionally, the recent discovery of Mega-Alakazam in the source code could play a crucial role. The Pokémon is of psychic type and would thus perfectly fit with the legendary Pokémon found.
