The GO Fest in Pokémon GO is just around the corner, but there are apparently problems with the in-game shop right now. Some trainers may experience delays.
This is the problem: According to Niantic Support on Twitter, some trainers may currently face issues with the shop. It seems that problems can occur when items are purchased in the shop.
A small percentage of trainers may experience a delay of up to 72 hours after an in-app purchase before the item appears in their item bag. Please keep this in mind as we approach the Pokémon GO Fest.

What if I am affected? In a blog post, Niantic explains that trainers should reach out if they have not received their item after more than 72 hours or cannot access an event due to this problem.
In this case, players should contact support with their purchase receipt and the email address of their Pokémon GO account directly.
Shop problems could affect GO Fest
What does this mean for the GO Fest? Among other things, trainers who want to fully participate in the GO Fest can purchase an event ticket in the shop. The event starts on Saturday, April 17 at 10:00 AM and ends on April 18 at 8:00 PM.
If there is indeed a 72-hour delay in purchasing, it could get tight with the event start.
At the same time, it is possible to buy items like remote raid passes, Poké Balls, incense, and everything else useful in the game for PokéCoins in the shop. Especially for the GO Fest, there may be a need for a raid pass or balls on short notice.
Finally, there will be plenty of monsters to catch, and on Sunday is the raid day with all legendary Pokémon. It would be frustrating if the items arrive too late after being purchased.
However, it should be noted that there will be a lot of raid passes from research and PokéStops at the GO Fest. So it should still be possible to get raid passes without the shop.
How can you prepare now? First of all, this problem is only likely to affect a small portion of trainers – so it’s quite possible that you won’t experience delays in the shop when buying items. At the same time, it should be noted that there have been issues in the past during the GO Fest. For example, in 2020, an additional replacement event had to take place because the GO Fest didn’t run smoothly.
If you haven’t bought a ticket yet but were planning to participate and want to be completely sure, you should consider purchasing the ticket now.
Regarding the items: You might also consider buying a few in advance if that’s what you were planning to do anyway. For example, if you planned to stock up on balls or Pokémon storage for the GO Fest, you should consider doing that sooner.
Furthermore, trainers should possibly save their currently available items like lucky eggs, incense or raid passes until the weekend. Just in case there really isn’t any restocking from the shop over the weekend.
To what extent the issues at the GO Fest will ultimately unfold remains to be seen. Additionally, you can still get the basic items through gifts, PokéStops or gym discs.
