In Pokémon GO, you should check in this weekend if you have taken a long break and missed one or the other Community Day.
What kind of event is this? The Community Day in December 2023 holds a special place: All Pokémon from the past Community Days of this year will appear in the wild again.
Additionally, you can also catch the monsters from the Community Days of 2022 by hatching 2km eggs or challenging them in Level 1 raids.
When does the Community Day take place? The first part starts on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM. The second part follows on Sunday, December 17, 2023, also from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Moreover, you can catch the event monsters on both days from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM; however, there are different boosted spawns during the respective event times from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This way, you can target the Pokémon that you are still missing.

Who is the Community Day in December 2023 worth it for?
Basically, the day is a great opportunity to catch missing Pokémon and thus catch up on the Community Days that you might have missed. Let’s see for whom the weekend is worth it.
For collectors: The two days are an opportunity to collect the Pokémon from the Community Days you could not attend. As always, there is an increased shiny rate for the event Pokémon – so shiny collectors will also get their share. Additionally, rare 4-star Pokémon can also be well sought after this weekend, as you will see many specimens of the same monsters – but there is no guarantee for that, of course.
However, if you have participated in all Community Days this year and are only after the Pokédex entry, there is nothing new to catch in this event.
For fighters: The December Community Day brings some strong monsters, but also some that are less useful in raids or PvP. There are a few really good attackers if you evolve the Pokémon, such as Togekiss, Maxax, Mamutel, Meistagrif, or Despotar. At the same time, there are also some monsters that can be ignored.

For leveling and bonuses: Apart from the spawns, you can also take advantage of the bonuses in the event. There are at least:
- Increased shiny chance for the event Pokémon
- Double catch XP
- Double catch stardust
- Double catch candies
- Half hatch distance for eggs
- Twice the chance of XL candies when catching (from Trainer Level 31)
These are useful bonuses, especially if you are trying to increase your trainer level or stock up on stardust. If you then use a lucky egg or a stardust boost, you can quickly raise your resources and XP in a short time.

With the Community Day, half the month is already over, and the new year is approaching. However, there are still several dates in December that will bring new Pokémon into the game. These include the debut of Damythir and Flaniwal.
