How to use Super Mega Raids?
The Super Mega Raids will be a new, challenging experience in Pokémon GO. The key points:
- The raids will be difficult; the Pokémon GO team announces that you need at least groups of eight for this. Legendary ones may require even more.
- Every trainer should deploy a Mega Pokémon in battle.
- The Super Mega Raid Pokémon can go into a rage and use shields.
- Every trainer can only break one shield. Therefore, you need many people.
- Mega Pokémon can break the shields more easily.
- There are more rewards, such as more Mega Energy.
During the Kalos Tour: During the Kalos Tour, Super Mega Raids are expected to bring you an increased shiny chance for the defeated Pokémon and a higher likelihood of strong values.
How can I participate? Info on Link Charges and Pass
The new Link Charges will be a resource that can be used for the Super Raid participation.
- On-site, you have a choice:
- Use Link Charges
- Or a Premium Battle Pass, i.e., the usual Raid Pass
- As a remote raid, you must use a Remote Raid Pass and Link Charges.
- Link Charges can be earned through weekly challenges, gifts from friends, or community meetups.
What does the new Super Max Level bring?
This new Mega Level represents an enhancement of the previous three Mega Levels.
- For the new Mega Level, you need to use Mega Energy. Therefore, one must earn it first.
- Your Pokémon will receive significantly increased CP at the Super Max Level.
- The candy, XL candy, and XP bonus when catching Pokémon of the same type will be increased.
- The Mega cooldown period of your monster will be reduced to 24 hours. This means you can Mega evolve it once a day without energy costs.
- Apparently, the Super Max Level will not be available for all Mega Pokémon from the start. The debuting Mega Sarzenia and Mega Calamanero will have the option during the Kalos Tour.
