Soon there will be a legendary lunch break in Pokémon GO! Niantic wants to try out a new event and is counting on player feedback. We will tell you what is already known.
This is the event: Pokémon GO aims to make your lunch break more interesting with the “Legendary Lunch Break” event. There will be significantly more raids for one hour during lunch. This is currently a one-time event but could happen more frequently afterwards.
So it is once again a kind of raid event, comparable to the raid days of Gengar or the legendary birds. However, this event will take place during the week and not on a weekend.
What we know about the legendary lunch break
When is the event? You should clear your lunch break on March 13th. The event will run from 12 PM to 1 PM German time.
This is what happens during the event: During this one hour, more raid battles than usual will take place. However, additional bonuses for the raids have not been announced yet.
These additional details are available: In addition to the official announcement, TheSilphRoad also talked to Niantic. They found out:
- During this period, there will likely be a legendary raid at every gym (comparable to the previous raid days)
- TheSilphRoad believes this is not entirely certain, but it seems quite logical to them
- In this event, there will only be legendary bosses (currently that would be Dialga)
- The legendary eggs will, according to PokémonGOHub, appear on the gyms at 11:50 and then hatch after 10 minutes
- The raids will then run for one hour
This is what it’s about: Niantic clearly calls it an experiment. They want to try something new and hope for feedback from the trainers. If the opinions are positive, similar events will occur more frequently.
Will this event occur regularly? Niantic even mentions that if it goes well, legendary lunch breaks might take place weekly. This would be the first event held every week.
