In Pokémon GO can completing battles in the PvP league take quite a while. However, some players may be pleased about a bug that significantly shortens it.
What is this bug? A user “bsobrun07” reports an interesting bug on the Pokémon GO subreddit. The user was apparently out and about as usual in the battle league and won a duel against another trainer. So far, so normal.
However, what happened after the victory was unusual: Instead of being able to report just one “Win”, the victory was counted hundreds of times. In his post on reddit, the user shares his diary entries from Pokémon GO, where the corresponding victory entry appears over and over again.
“I don’t really know what happened, but I had less than 200 Master League wins before this fight,” the user reports in his post. A screenshot of his Master League medal shows: He now has 325.
So instead of just being able to record one victory, over a hundred wins were counted on the user’s account. Why this error occurred is currently unknown. However, it is clear: This is not the first time it has appeared.
Battle League Shortcut Affected Several Users – They are Happy
Not the first case: For example, a user wrote just a few days ago that a match had lagged for him and while watching TV he absent-mindedly continued to tap on the screen. A little later, after the fight, he noticed that he had also been credited with about 70 wins (via reddit).
Another user also reported that he received numerous wins after a lagging match because he hadn’t paid further attention (via reddit).
In recent weeks, there have been several posts in the Pokémon GO community that depicted a similar error. One post in the “pokemongo” subreddit received particularly much attention:
Here, a user also shows that he received simply 100 wins after a single match in the battle league.
The exciting thing about this bug: It seems to count for both the battle league medal and the “Limited GO Battle League Research,” for which players can pick up a free ticket in the shop.
This research has a very long duration and rewards players in various stages for their victories in the battle league. There is always plenty of valuable stardust for 10 won matches – sometimes 1000, sometimes 1500, sometimes 2500. Additionally, there are items like TMs or balls for page completions.
Completing this research would normally take hours, for example, if aiming for 100 wins. Players who were affected by the bug could instead enjoy the rewards in a very short time.
