On the first weekend of November, Pokémon GO players can catch certain Shinies more frequently. We’ll tell you which ones.
On the Gengar Day today, November 3rd, you can encounter Shiny Gengar. There will also be another event where another Shiny Pokémon will appear more frequently.
In this article, you will now see the Shinies of the weekend on November 3rd and 4th.
Catching Shiny Gengar
During Gengar Day, players will have the chance to encounter a Shiny Gengar. The Ghost-type Pokémon will dominate the arenas for three hours, waiting for a challenge from players.
Differences between normal and shiny: Shiny Gengar is hard to recognize. The shiny form is only slightly darker than the normal Gengar. So pay attention especially to the stars above the name when catching Gengar. They will tell you if you are facing a Shiny.
Shiny Pinsir in the Wild
Many trainers wished for it and Niantic has implemented it. The Bug-type Pokémon Pinsir, which had previously only appeared in the Safari Zone in Taiwan, is now appearing more frequently in the wild worldwide.

Similar to Wingull: Similar to what happened with Wingull, Pinsir will now also spawn more frequently for a few days. The chances of encountering a Shiny Pinsir are also increased. So it’s worth clicking on every Pinsir, as there probably won’t be a better chance for the shiny version.
Presumably, the spawn rate will remain elevated over the weekend. The Safari Zone in Taiwan ends on November 5th.
Blue Shiny: The difference between the normal and shiny Pinsir is obvious to everyone. Unlike Gengar, the differences here are clear. The body is blue while the horns are yellow.
More Shiny through Field Research: In addition to Gengar and Pinsir, there are also more chances for Shinies. In the Field Research in November, it’s all about Bug-type Pokémon. There, players have the opportunity to catch the new Shiny Pokémon Caterpie. This is the first time that Caterpie is available as a Shiny.
In addition to Caterpie, players can complete tasks in the field research to encounter Tangela, Pinsir, or Magikarp. These and many other potential shiny Pokémon will be available in the quests throughout November, not just on the weekend.
Of course, you can also catch other Shinies that have been released in Pokémon GO over the weekend. The chances for the Pokémon mentioned here like Pinsir or Gengar are increased this weekend.
