Storage for trainers’ Pokémon catches has been a significant topic in recent weeks. Slowly, players’ backpacks are bursting at the seams because they carry so many monsters.

Pokémon storage increased – Now 1500
Previously, you could carry up to 1000 Pokémon in Pokémon GO. While that sounds like a lot of space, it wasn’t enough for many players. The numerous Pidgeys used for mass evolutions quickly take up a lot of storage.
Now that the third generation is activated in the game and Pokémon from the Hoenn region are coming to us, increased storage capacity is important.
The developers at Niantic listened to trainers’ feedback and increased the maximum number of Pokémon that can be stored from 1000 to 1500. You can purchase storage upgrades in the shop.

In a developer blog, the team writes that the need for Pokémon storage is now greater than before due to Generation 3. Therefore, they increased this number and simultaneously raised the minimum Pokémon storage capacity by 50 slots.
Developer Insight into Dynamic Weather
The realization of the new weather system was one of the first ideas that came to the developers’ minds when thinking about new features for the release of Generation 3.
The new weather system displays the current regional weather of the trainer in the game. Moreover, certain Pokémon types appear more frequently in their favorite weather. Additionally, attacks that match specific weather conditions deal extra damage.
The developers want the digital world to adapt even more to the real world through weather changes. Thus, you can use the weather to your advantage in gym and raid battles as certain attacks will deal more damage.
Niantic is already excited to see how players will react to the new weather system once it is activated.
Battle Teams Adapt to Raids and Weather Conditions
With the new battle teams, which are still in beta phase, the developers want to shorten your Pokémon search.
Trainers will have the opportunity to create teams of up to six Pokémon and give them a name. This way, you won’t have to search for the right monsters for a raid or gym battle, but will have your group ready immediately.
During the beta phase of the battle teams, the groups will be saved on your device. If you switch phones or play on multiple devices, you will need to reassemble the battle teams there.
Once the feature goes to the full version, the teams will also be transferred to other devices.
