In Pokémon GO there are adjustments to the current April Fools’ event. This gives you a better chance of obtaining the new Shiny Glibunkel.
What was the problem? Glibunkel was introduced through the current April Fools’ event. The problem was that it was quite rare, and therefore you had very few Shiny checks.
In response, Niantic adjusted the event so that Glibunkel now appears significantly more frequently.
How the current event was altered
These are the adjustments: To give you a better chance of getting the new Shiny, the following changes have been made:
- Glibunkel appears more frequently in the wild and in eggs
- Griffel, on the other hand, will be somewhat less common in the wild
- The quest “Catch 3 Ditto,” which rewards Glibunkel, will be increased
What does this mean for players? Those looking for Shiny Glibunkel will be pleased with these adjustments. The odds of getting a Shiny are still 1 in 450, but with the numerous Glibunkel in the wild, you can certainly hope for a Shiny.
Here is some criticism from players: Many trainers do not understand why there are fewer spawns of Griffel, while Voltobal and Tarnpignon continue to appear so frequently.
After all, these two Pokémon cannot be Shiny and consume quite a few Poké Balls, especially since behind these two Pokémon a Ditto often hides.
As TaunTaun_22 writes on reddit: “I don’t think Griffel needs a spawn nerf, unlike Voltobal and Tarnpignon. But I would gladly take more Glibunkel!”
How long will the event last? The event will continue until April 7 at 10:00 PM local time. So you have until Tuesday evening to catch the increased Glibunkel. Afterwards, the Easter event will begin.
Keep in mind that there is currently a risk of contracting the coronavirus. The Federal Center for Health Education recommends staying home as much as possible, keeping a safe distance from others, and avoiding gatherings. Niantic has taken various measures so that you can play Pokémon GO from home.
