In Pokémon GO, you can expect a Community Day with the bug Pokémon Mabula in September 2023. We at MeinMMO will show you when the event takes place and what content awaits you on that day.
What event is it? In Pokémon GO, a so-called Community Day is held every month, where a selected monster is highlighted and spawns particularly frequently. The Shiny chance for this Pokémon is also increased during the event.
There will also be such an event in September, where you can encounter the bug Pokémon Mabula. This little larva Pokémon will again be accompanied by various bonuses. We have summarized what they are for you below.
When does the Community Day take place? The Community Day with Mabula runs on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 2 PM to 5 PM. It is thus the second in the current season Reichlich Abenteuer
after the Community Classic with Glumanda.
All bonuses for the Community Day with Mabula
What bonuses are there? During the Community Day with Mabula, you can expect not only numerous spawns but also some bonuses. You can particularly look forward to a lot of XP. Most bonuses are only active during the event period from 2 PM to 5 PM, but there will also be content that you can use for longer.
The following bonuses will be available between 2 PM and 5 PM:
- 3x XP for catching
- Double candy for catching
- Double chance of XL candy for catching (from Trainer Level 31)
- Lures and incense last 3 hours
- Surprises from snapshots
- PokéStop showcases with Mabula and Donarion
- Event field research on Mabula
- Event stickers from gifts and PokéStops
You can also use these bonuses beyond the event until 10 PM local time:
- one additional special trade, so a maximum of 2 on this day
- halved stardust costs for trading
- Time-limited research on Mabula
- Reward: Magnet Lure Module
Exclusive attack: In addition to the numerous bonuses, the event also brings you an exclusive fast attack when you evolve Akkup, the first evolution of Mabula, into Donarion. This way, Darion can secure the electric attack Voltwechsel
, which deals the following damage:

- Raids & Gym battles: 14 damage

Is there Shiny Mabula? Yes, Mabula can also be caught for the first time in the game as Shiny. You can recognize it by its red body. Due to an increased shiny rate, your chances of encountering one or the other specimen are particularly good on this day. Special Level 4 Raids
What are those raids? As you are already familiar with from other Community Days, there will also be special Level 4 raids after the actual Community Day with Mabula. In these, you can encounter Akkup.
When do the raids take place? The raids take place on September 23 from 5 PM to 10 PM.
What is special about the raids? Unlike most other raids, you can only play these on-site. However, after victory, you will be rewarded with additional Mabula spawns that will appear for 30 minutes around the gym. These spawns also have an increased shiny chance.
Which contents are particularly worthwhile? Particularly interesting on this day is the XP bonus for catching. If you’re on the way to level 50, you shouldn’t miss out on this. And shiny hunters will also get their money’s worth on this day, as Mabula will make its shiny debut.
Furthermore, Mabula has a strong evolution in Donarion, which is among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. For this reason, you should secure a strong specimen. The candy bonus also provides you with enough candies to level up your monster.
