Pokémon GO shows its events for the month of September. There are new Spotlight Hours, a research breakthrough, and information about the mysterious Pokémon Victini.
What is new? Numerous events for September are known! This gives you a rough overview of which events are coming up next month.
Research Breakthrough in September
What is available? The research breakthrough in September revolves around Alolan Raichu. You will receive it if you complete field research on 7 days.
In addition to Alolan Raichu, there are also other items, such as Stardust, as rewards.
Alolan Raichu is particularly interesting for PvP fans. It is among the best Pokémon in the Great League and benefits from its different moves.
Here are the times: Alolan Raichu will appear starting September 1 at 10 PM in the breakthrough. It will remain for exactly one month and will disappear on October 1 at 10 PM CEST.
All Spotlight Hours in September
What is it? During the Spotlight Hour, a special Pokémon is always highlighted. It will appear for an hour everywhere, and you can benefit from a small bonus.
In September, there are a total of 5 Spotlight Hours. An event takes place every Tuesday at 6 PM local time.
Tuesday, September 1
What bonuses are there? This one is all about the Normal-type Pokémon Eevee. In addition, you will receive double XP for catching Pokémon.
Shiny Eevee has been available since the Community Day in August 2018. So you can actively hunt for Shiny ones.
Tuesday, September 8
What bonuses are there? On this day, Houndour is in the spotlight. Additionally, there are double candies for catching Pokémon.
Houndour is already available as Shiny in the game. Outside of events, it can be quite rare, so some may still need a Shiny.
Tuesday, September 15
What bonuses are there? This hour is all about Tentacool. You will receive double candies for sending Pokémon.
Tentacool has also been available as Shiny for some time. If you didn’t play at the GO Fest where Tentacool was quite common, you can go Shiny hunting here.
Tuesday, September 22
What bonuses are there? In the penultimate Spotlight Hour, you will find Pidgey everywhere. In addition, there is double XP when evolving Pokémon.
Pidgey is not yet available as Shiny. It remains to be seen whether the Pokémon will be introduced as Shiny by then.
Tuesday, September 29
What bonuses are there? On this day, Electrike shines in the spotlight. Accordingly, there are double Stardust when catching Pokémon.
Electrike can also be caught as Shiny. If you don’t have the Shiny yet, you shouldn’t miss this hour.
New Special Research with Victini
What is known: At the end of September, there will also be a new special research. It revolves around the mysterious Pokémon Victini.
You can only catch the Pokémon through this research if you haven’t already caught it at the GO Fest 2020. If you already have Victini, you will receive some Victini candies through the research.
There is no further information about the research yet. We will have to wait a few more days until we know the exact start date of the research.
Jessie and James Disappear & GO Battle Night
What has been said about Jessie & James? The two cult villains have currently been in the game for several weeks and you can challenge them via Rocket Balloon.
However, the two ruffians will not appear in Pokémon GO starting September 30. If you want to defeat them, you should take advantage of this month.
This is the GO Battle Night: On September 24 from 6 PM to midnight, the GO Battle Night will be held for the first time. During this time, there will be double Stardust if you win battles, complete battle sets, and rank up in the GO Battle League.
You will be able to participate in up to 20 battle sets that evening. That is a total of up to 100 battles that you can perform for free.
There is a lot going on in September. Specific events have not yet been announced. They could revolve around the Mega Evolutions that we will soon see in Pokémon GO.
