You know Pokémon GO as a colorful and bright game. However, players have been requesting a Dark Mode setting for a long time. A trainer on reddit shows what that could look like.

The familiar design is then replaced by a darker appearance and avoids many bright colors and some white representations. A reddit user shared his suggestion in the community about what such a dark design for Pokémon GO could look like and is receiving a lot of support from trainers. Even Niantic was made aware of the design by the player.
‘I was really excited. I thought it was real’
This is what it looks like: On reddit HukThe1ST writes that there have already been many discussions about a Dark Mode for Pokémon GO in the past. In his thread, he explains that such a Dark Mode would positively impact your battery because darker colors consume less power.
Moreover, it would be much more comfortable for your eyes if you play Pokémon GO in a dark environment or at night. ‘I wonder why they haven’t implemented it [a Dark Mode] until now […]’ writes HukThe1ST. For these reasons, the user decided to create such a mode from a fan’s perspective and shares the concept with the players.
How is this received by the players? On reddit, the thread has gained attention with over 1,100 upvotes and 80 comments. Many players agree that Pokémon GO is missing exactly such a Dark Mode. They also do not understand why it has not been implemented yet.

What does Niantic say? HukThe1ST sent his suggestion for the Dark Mode to Pokémon GO support with an image. He informed the support staff about the benefits that a Dark Mode would bring to the game.
In response, support wrote: ‘Hello Trainer, thank you for contacting Pokémon GO support and sharing your experiences with us. I will share your feedback with our team to continue improving Pokémon GO. […].
Now players hope that there will really be a Dark Mode for the game soon, which is easier on the eyes. Do you also wish for such a Dark Mode?
