When will the WP change come? Weeks ago, Niantic announced a change in Pokémon values. These changes will take effect tonight, November 14, at 10 PM.
The changes will be made automatically, so you do not need to change anything on your account.
What do these changes bring?
Niantic aims to achieve a greater game balance with the adjustment of values. Not only the WP of all Pokémon will change, but also their base stats. This includes defense and HP values. The attack values of all Pokémon remain the same.
winners & losers: The Pokémon that will benefit from the change are those that have not had good defense or HP values so far. The losers of these changes are primarily the Pokémon that have high defense and HP values. It is feared that especially Heiteira will lose a lot of WP.
Changes are meant to close gaps: The changes are especially intended to close the gap between good and poor defenders. One should be able to attack better with classic defenders and survive longer in an arena with weak defenders.
Change of the formula: With the adjustment of the values, the formula that has previously determined the competition points of the Pokémon will also change.
No Gen 4 Pokémon: Only Pokémon from the first three generations are affected by the changes. The values of Pokémon from the 4th generation were already changed before their release.
How the community reacts
A large part of the community is excited about the change in values. It brings the possibility to use Pokémon that have not been used often before more frequently again. Other players are mourning Pokémon that will be weakened now.
Many players collected Pokémon with special competition points. These will now be changed and will no longer have these WP.
