You have only a few hours left to catch Shiny Colorful Eagle in Pokémon GO. After the event ends, there will be no more Shinys available for the time being.
What’s happening in Pokémon GO? For a few days now, there has been an event celebrating the release of Pokémon New Snap for trainers. During the event, you have the chance to catch Shiny Colorful Eagle. However, the event only lasts a few more hours, and after that, the chance to catch this shiny Pokémon will disappear indefinitely.

How much longer to catch Shiny Colorful Eagle?
So little time left: The Snap event ends in Pokémon GO today, Sunday, May 2nd, at 8:00 PM local time (via Niantic). After 8:00 PM, you will have no chance to catch Shiny Colorful Eagle anymore. At some point in the future, there should be a possibility to encounter this special form of the Pokémon again. However, when that will be is unclear.
The developers write about the current event on their website:
With a bit of luck, you might even encounter a Shiny Colorful Eagle! However, please note that Colorful Eagle will only appear in snapshots a limited number of times, and Shiny Colorful Eagles will not appear after the event. However, you will have the chance to encounter one in future events.
This is how it works: To find Shiny Colorful Eagle, you need to be lucky. Additionally, you first need to trigger an encounter with the Pokémon.
- Open your Pokémon collection
- Select a Pokémon and then press the camera icon
- Take a snapshot of the Pokémon
- Colorful Eagle will “photobomb” the picture and sneak its head into the photo
- Exit the photo mode and Colorful Eagle will appear next to you – hopefully even as Shiny
