From now on, you can buy a ticket for the new event “Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto”. The event in February 2021 brings all classic monsters – also available as Shiny.
When does the event start? The Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto takes place on Saturday, February 20, 2021. The event runs from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM local time.
This is how it works with the ticket: For the event, there is a special ticket that is now available for purchase in the in-game shop. It costs 12.99 euros. If you buy it early, you will also receive the ticket research from the community days in January and February.
The event highlights the classic monsters of the 1st generation from Kanto. What exactly will happen at the event, you can find out here.
What the ticket for the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto brings you
This is happening at the event: With the ticket, you can choose a variant of the event based on the classic editions. In the English blog post, it mentions Pokémon Green and Red – it’s likely that we will rather get “Blue” and “Red” here. The twist: Depending on which side you choose, you will receive different spawns. Anyone who wants to catch all monsters will have to trade with friends – just like in the past on the Gameboy.
These Pokémon are available: Basically, the event revolves around the 1st generation. The exciting part: The first 150 Pokémon from the Kanto region will be catchable on that day, all also available as Shinys.
This also applies to monsters that have not yet been catchable as shiny variants in Pokémon GO. These 7 Shinys are new in the game for the Kanto Tour.
As a special bonus, you can complete a special research task during the event. If you succeed, you receive another task series. From this, you can then obtain Shiny Mew.
In raids, the 3 legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres appear, just like Mewtwo. They come with special attacks.
- Articuno learns Hurricane
- Zapdos masters Thunder Shock
- Moltres comes with Sky Attack
- Mewtwo masters Psystrike
How do the spawns differ? Depending on the version, you will sometimes see different monsters.
- In Pokémon “Green” you can find Sandshrew, Vulpix, Meowth, Weepinbell, Magmar, and Pinsir, which you can exclusively attract through smoke. You will have an increased chance of Shinys with Nidoran (male), Vulpix, Meowth, Psyduck, Weepinbell, Geodude, Owei, Hitmonchan, Snorlax, Tangela, Horsea, Magmar, Pinsir, and Omanyte.
- In Pokémon “Red”, you will exclusively find Ekans, Bellsprout, Mankey, Growlithe, Scyther, and Electabuzz through smoke. Extra shiny chances are available on Ekans, Nidoran (female), Bellsprout, Diglett, Mankey, Growlithe, Ponyta, Shellder, Drowzee, Krabby, Hitmonlee, Snorlax, Scyther, Electabuzz, and Kabuto.
- In both versions, there are increased shiny chances for Eevee, Dratini, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pidgey.
These features are included in the event: Here you see all event contents at a glance.
- All Kanto monsters appear in the wilderness, in raids, and encounters after challenges.
- If you catch all 150 classic monsters, you can look forward to rewards. However, you should have until February 27 to catch certain monsters.
- All monsters can appear as Shiny. Depending on your chosen version, the spawns differ.
- There is an exclusive special research task with a special Pokémon at the end. After that, you will get the second special research task with Mew.
- There are more candies for Kanto monsters.
What do you get without a ticket? Without a ticket, the event will also make an impact. The legendary monsters are also available to players without a ticket in raids. Additionally, there will be:
- Some Kanto monsters in the wilderness
- Limited researches
- An increased trading distance of 40 kilometers
This is already a large event known for 2021. The current year is not even over yet: This week, the Community Day in December is coming up.
