What kind of task is it? On September 1, 2021, a new season began in Pokémon GO. With this, there is also a special research called “Misunderstood Mischief”. This special research includes a task where you need to take three snapshots of wild Psychic-type Pokémon.
But how do you need to take these snapshots for them to count, and which Pokémon are eligible? We will show you.
Snapshot of Wild Pokémon – Here’s How It Works
To photograph a Pokémon in the wild, you need to enter the catch mode. There, you will see a camera icon at the top of the screen. Click on this icon, and a photo view will open, as seen in the following image.
Here you have the option to take snapshots using the camera icon at the bottom of the screen. If you are satisfied with your image, you can confirm it with the checkmark on the bottom right; otherwise, you can delete it using the trash can icon on the left.
In both cases, you will return to your photo view and can take more images. Once you are done, simply click on the arrow at the bottom left to return to the catch mask. After that, you will have the option to catch your Pokémon.
However, you do not necessarily need to photograph only wild monsters to complete the task. It is also possible to defeat a Pokémon in a raid and take a snapshot of it before catching.
Attention: The task to complete the special research “Misunderstood Mischief” can only be done this way. Photographing an already caught monster or your buddy will not work.
Tip: So you don’t have to search for three different monsters, we have a helpful tip for you. It is enough if you click one of these required Psychic-type Pokémon and photograph it three times in a row. In the photo view, you can take as many pictures as you like. If it worked, a notification will briefly appear at the bottom right showing the task with the corresponding number of completed snapshots.
You Need Psychic-type Pokémon
However, it is not just the snapshot of a wild monster that matters, but also the right Pokémon. To complete the task, you should not photograph just any Pokémon, but you need to focus on Psychic-type monsters. Currently, the following Pokémon of this type are spawning more frequently in the wild:
- Magikarp
- Solrock (in the city)
Currently, there are also Psychic-type Pokémon in raids, such as Surskit in level-1 raids. So choose suitable monsters of this type and photograph them as described above. Then completing the special research shouldn’t be a problem for you.
By the way: Whether a particular Pokémon is a Psychic-type can also be seen when entering the catch mask. For a short time, the type of the monster is displayed above. If you see a red circle with a white swirl, then it is a Psychic Pokémon.
