With the launch of the new event “Sweet Discoveries”, you can catch Knapfel in Pokémon GO for the first time. We have summarized how it works and what else to expect during the event.
When does the event run? The “Sweet Discoveries” event starts on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM. It runs until Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
How can you catch Knapfel? At the start of the event, you can find apples on the map – similar to Pokéballs during the event on April 1. If you tap on the apples, you can find sweet or sour apples or encounter different Pokémon. One of the Pokémon is Knapfel. Additionally, more apples will appear on the map near Moss Lure Modules.
How can you evolve Knapfel? If you want to evolve Knapfel into Drapfel, you will need 200 Knapfel candies and 20 sour apples. To evolve Knapfel into Schlapfel, you will need 200 candies and 20 sweet apples.
Sweet Discoveries – All Contents of the Event
What bonuses are available during the event? The following bonuses are active during the event:
- double amount of candies when catching monsters
- increased Shiny chance for Botogel and Raffel in the wild
- increased Shiny chance for Botogel, Kikugi, and Raffel when hatching eggs
- berries for caught Botogel and Raffel
- increased chance of apples near Moss Lure Modules
- halved distance for hatching eggs that you place in incubators using the Pokémon GO widget (applies to 3 eggs)

- Alolan Rattata*
- Abra*
- Knofensa*
- Botogel*
- Schluppuck*
- Bidiza*
- Somniam*
- Frubberl*
- Raffel*
- Relaxo* (rare)

- Koalelu* (rare)
- Knapfel (through apples)
All monsters marked with a * can also appear as Shiny.
Which monsters are in eggs? If you receive 7-km eggs during the event, you can hatch the following Pokémon from them:
- Botogel*
- Kikugi*
- Mampfaxo*
- Raffel*
Pokémon with a * can also be hatched as Shiny.
Further event contents: The event features a free and a paid limited research. In the free version, you can expect 1 Moss Lure Module, 1 sour apple, 1 sweet apple, and encounters with event Pokémon.
You can purchase the paid version for $1.99 (approximately 2 €). Here you will receive 2 Moss Lure Modules and encounters with event monsters.
Additionally, you can complete special field researches during the event, which offer stardust and further encounters with event Pokémon.
