Raid Day with Mega-Metagross – Content and Tips
What bonuses are there during the event? All players will receive the following bonuses during the event:
- increased chance of Shiny Metagross
- up to five free raid passes from gyms
- Remote raid limit increased to 20 (from October 4, 2025, 2:00 AM to October 5, 2025, 5:00 AM)
What bonuses come with the event ticket? For €5.49, you can purchase an event ticket for the raid day. This will give you the following additional bonuses:
- 8 additional raid passes from gyms
- increased chance of XL special candies in raids
- additional 5,000 experience points in raids
- double stardust in raids
How do I get Mega-Metagross? If you successfully defeat Mega-Metagross in a raid, you can only catch the regular version of Metagross afterwards. Additionally, you will receive Mega Energy for the evolution. If you have collected 300 energy from raids, you can trigger the Mega Evolution of Metagross for the first time.
What counters should I use? The Mega Evolution of Metagross has the same types as the normal variant of the Pokémon, Psychic and Steel. It is weak against attacks from the types Ground, Ghost, Fire, and Dark. Therefore, focus on these types to defeat Mega-Metagross.
You will need at least 2 trainers to defeat the boss. If you don’t have the best counters against Mega-Metagross, you should rely on additional trainers.
Which Mega Evolution is suitable for the event? If you have the appropriate Mega Evolution active during the raids, you can benefit from additional experience points, an increased chance of XL candies, as well as more regular candies while catching. The evolution only needs to be active; it does not have to be in your battle team.
