In Pokémon GO today, on February 15th, the Raid Day with Slurpuff takes place. We show you the best counters, the Shinies, and more useful information.
What is the Raid Day? This event runs around the Valentine’s Day celebrations. You will find a Slurpuff raid at every gym for 3 hours. With a bit of luck, this Pokémon can appear for the first time as a Shiny.
To make the best use of your time, we show you all the important information here.
Raid Day with Slurpuff – Times and Bonuses
When: On Saturday, February 15th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time
Pokémon of the day: Slurpuff
Bonus: For the first time, there is Shiny Slurpuff
Bonus: 5 free raid passes are available
Bonus: During the 3 hours, Slurpuff and Slurp can learn the move Bodyslam
What you need to know about the times: Today at exactly 2 PM, a Slurpuff raid will appear at every gym that is not currently hosting an EX raid. This will be active for exactly 3 hours before it disappears again.
How to get the free passes: The 5 raid passes are not given at once. You have to use each pass individually in order to receive the next one. Together with your daily pass, you can do up to 6 free Slurpuff raids.
However, after 5 PM, the passes will expire. So you need to redeem them during the event period.
Shiny Slurpuff and Slurp
Will there be Shiny Slurpuff? The biggest motivation for this event is likely the introduction of Shiny Slurpuff. For the first time, you can catch this Pokémon as Shiny. After the Raid Day, it will also be found as Shiny in the wild and in eggs.
What are the chances of a Shiny? So far, there has been a Shiny chance of about 1 in 10 on raid days. Therefore, it is quite possible that the rate is just as high this time.
You have quite a good chance of getting a Shiny.
How to Best Take Advantage of the Event
Are the Slurpuff raids worth it? Slurpuff and Slurp are not very significant in raids or gyms in Pokémon GO. Therefore, you don’t need to do raids for them. They are not a part of the best attackers.
However, the move Bodyslam makes both Pokémon slightly better in the PvP league. So if you enjoy PvP in Pokémon GO, you should secure a good specimen.
Another incentive is certainly the Shiny. After the event, you won’t have such strong chances of getting a Shiny anytime soon. So if you want the shiny version, you should take part in the event.
Use these tips: If you want to do a lot of raids in Pokémon GO, you should keep the following tips in mind:
- Look for areas with many gyms
- If you don’t have many gyms nearby, you can only participate in a few raids. So consider going to a larger city to get to a good area.
- Plan your route in advance
- Don’t walk randomly through the city; have a clear plan. Think about how you can hit as many gyms as possible in a short time and stick to this plan within the 3 hours.
- Fight while moving
- Once you’re in the raid and fighting, you can move away from the gym. However, you must ensure that you do not end up back in the lobby, as you won’t be able to return to the battle.
- Small groups save time
- Going with just 4-5 players is significantly more effective. With more players, you have to pay attention to more people, which often costs time. Keep your group small.
