The Pokémon GO Community Day in May 2024 brings Frubberl. How to make the most out of the event on May 19, 2024, is explained here in the guide.
When does the Community Day start? It starts on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM. It will run until 5:00 PM. After that, there will still be four-star raids available.
What kind of event is it? This time the Community Day brings the “Fruit Pokémon” Frubberl. It belongs to the Grass type and comes from the seventh generation. It evolves into Frubaila and then into Fruyal.
As always on Community Day, Frubberl will appear everywhere in the game and will be the prominent spawn during the event. Additionally, you will have an increased shiny chance when catching the monster. There will also be other bonuses.

When? Sunday, May 19, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Exclusive Attack: “Turmick” for Frubaila if you evolve Fruyal by 10:00 PM.

Special Research: As usual, there will be a paid, optional special research for about 1 Euro in the shop when the Community Day starts.
What happens after the Community Day? After 5:00 PM, you can still participate in bonus raids of level 4. These will run until 10:00 PM and will feature a battle with Frubaila. If you defeat it, more Frubberl with increased shiny chance will appear around the arena for 30 minutes.
Attention: These raids can only be started on-site, not via remote raid.
Who should participate in the Community Day with Frubberl?
For collectors: As always, Community Day is a great opportunity for collectors to secure a monster and enough candies for its evolution. Plus, you have the chance to catch the shiny, which is one of the more eye-catching ones in Pokémon GO. There are significantly fewer cool shinies.

For fighters: Unfortunately, Frubberl is not that great here. Neither its first stage nor its evolutions are really strong with the currently available moveset – this applies to both PvP battles and as an attacker in raids or gyms. How to prepare for the Community Day with Frubberl
Make some space: As always on Community Day: Make space in your Pokémon box. This way, you can catch plenty of monsters without interruption and later sort out which ones you want to keep. If you don’t clear space beforehand, you may have to frequently tidy up your box during the event when you actually want to roam around and catch monsters. Which items do I need? The following items may be useful during the Community Day:
- Balls: You will always need them in large quantities on Community Day to catch many monsters. If you are short on balls, here are tips for collecting Poké balls.
- Egg incubator: This is particularly important on Community Day with Frubberl: Make sure your incubator is empty when the event starts. Because you only get the four times hatch speed for eggs that you place in the incubator during the event. Don’t waste this timing just to save kilometers.
- Sananabeere: Always good, as they double the candy count when catching. Since there are already double candies, you can directly receive four times the candies. Tip: This also applies to raid bosses that you challenge!
- Incense and lures: Both last three hours during the event. Keep in mind: Incense attracts Pokémon while you are moving, whereas lures attract stationary monsters to a PokéStop. Tip: If you activate the items towards the end of the event, for example, one hour before it ends, three hours will still be unlocked – this way you can extend your incense beyond the Community Day and attract other spawns after the event.
Which mega Pokémon should I activate? Use an active grass-type mega evolution to get extra candies when catching. Suitable options include:
- Mega-Bisaflor
- Mega-Rexblisar
- Mega-Gewaldro
- Proto-Groudon (boosts grass, although it itself does not belong to that type)
The Community Day is slowly gearing up for the finale of May and thus for the conclusion of the current season “World Full of Wonders.” Because on June 1, the next season will start, bringing new content, additional spawns, and more.
