In Pokémon GO starts this Sunday, April 11th, with the Community Day featuring Serpifeu. We will show you all the bonuses and tell you how to take advantage of it.
What is a Community Day? This event takes place once a month in Pokémon GO. For a whole 6 hours, a special Pokémon is in the spotlight and you can encounter it more frequently as a Shiny. Additionally, there’s a bonus that makes the event even more worthwhile.
In April, it’s all about Serpifeu. The Grass starter was already available as a Shiny, but now it gets another big event.
Community Day in April 2021 – Start time and bonuses
When? On Sunday, April 11, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time.
Pokémon of the Day: Serpifeu will appear more frequently in the wild
Exclusive moves: Flora-Statue
Bonus: Triple Stardust for catching Pokémon
Bonus: Duration of incense increased to three hours
Bonus: You can evolve Efoserp up to 2 hours after the event to allow Serpiroyal to learn the move Flora-Statue.
You will again have a full 6 hours to take advantage of the event. Since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, there has been this extended Community Day so you can play comfortably from home.
What’s in the in-game shop: For the Community Day, you will find some offers in the in-game shop. These include:
- For one Euro, there’s a special research challenge centered around Serpifeu
- There’s a Community Day box for 1280 PokéCoins containing 50 Ultra Balls, 4 Lure Modules, and a Premium Raid Pass.
How to make the most of the Community Day
Prepare these items: To play freely during the Community Day, you should stock up on a good supply of balls. We recommend at least 350 balls so you can catch for a while unbothered – even without a PokéStop.
Additionally, you should start with a sorted Pokémon box. If you have little space in your inventory, then constantly sorting will hinder you while playing. Make room for at least 150-200 Pokémon.
These items are worth it during the event: There is triple Stardust for caught Pokémon, so you should definitely use a Star Piece as well. This gives you even 4.5 times the Stardust per Pokémon. A Star Piece lasts for 30 minutes, so you’ll need 12 of these items if you want to play the full 6 hours.
Otherwise, incense is worth it. It lasts a full 3 hours, so you only need 2 of these items to get the full advantage of the event. With incense, you can effectively play from home and do not have to wait for spawns at your doorstep.
Can you also play from home? Due to numerous Corona bonuses and the aforementioned incense, playing from home is very feasible. Just activate your incense and lure a Pokémon every minute. If you play for the full 6 hours, you will catch at least 360 Pokémon.
How worthwhile is the Community Day? The evolution of Serpifeu, Serpiroyal, is one of the weaker starter Pokémon in the game. Even with the move Flora-Statue, it will not be a top attacker in raids. So if you are looking for strong attackers, you can skip the Community Day.
However, Serpifeu also appears more frequently in its shiny form, and if you don’t have enough Shinies yet, you should at least play a little. Additionally, the triple Stardust is always worth it. Stardust is the most important resource in the game, so you can never have enough. When you play, you should definitely take advantage of the Stardust bonus.
Shiny Serpifeu, Efoserp and Serpiroyal
This is what Shinies look like: The Shiny form of Serpifeu is slightly darker than the normal Serpifeu. This color is consistent throughout the evolution line:
How likely is a Shiny? During the Community Day, the chance of a Shiny is about 1 in 25. This is significantly increased, as normal Shinies have a rate of 1 in 450 in the wild. So if you play just a little during the Community Day, you should have good chances for the shiny version.
