On Saturday, June 8, the Community Day kicks off with Bummelz in Pokémon GO. We will provide you with all the info about the times, Shinys, and bonuses so you can make the most of the day.
What are Community Days anyway? These events take place once a month. During this time, an Event Pokémon spawns more frequently for 3 hours, which you can also catch as Shiny. Additionally, there are other bonuses.
In June, everything revolves around the Normal-type Pokémon Bummelz. How to make the most of the day, you can find out here.
Community Day in June 2019 – Everything about the start time and the bonuses
When: On Saturday, June 8, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM local German time
Pokémon of the Day: Bummelz
Exclusive Move: Bodyslam (exclusive to Letarking)
Bonus: The egg distance is reduced to one-quarter
Bonus: 3-hour lure modules
Another Bonus: You can evolve Letarking until 7:00 PM to learn the exclusive move Bodyslam
What you need to know about the times: No matter what time zone you are in, the Community Day starts everywhere at 3:00 PM local time. It runs until 6:00 PM.
How to make the best of Community Day
What to focus on: From a usability perspective, Bummelz isn’t very interesting. So it’s enough to catch a few Shinys and focus on other things otherwise.
During the event, you will hatch eggs 4 times faster. You should take advantage of this bonus since there are currently also special 2 km eggs, which include Koknodon among others.
So try to keep moving so you can hatch the eggs quickly. This way, you can also catch the most Pokémon.
It’s worth investing in: If you don’t have enough incubators, then it’s also worth checking out the current Adventure Box in the in-game shop. There you get 15 regular incubators, with which you only have to walk 500 meters for a 2 km egg.
What else can be taken advantage of? During Community Days, spawns are increased. So you will encounter more Pokémon in the game. Use a Star Piece as it will allow you to generate even more Stardust. Stardust is probably the most important resource in the game, as it’s the only way to strengthen your Pokémon.
Shiny Bummelz, Muntier and Letarking
Will there be Shiny Bummelz? During the 3 hours you have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Bummelz. After the event, Shiny Bummelz will still be available, just not as frequently.
What is the chance of encountering Shiny Bummelz? A Shiny Bummelz during the Community Day has a rate of about 1 in 25. All other Shinys continue to have a rate of 1 in 450 in the wild.
Letarking with Bodyslam – How strong will it be?
How will Letarking learn the move? To get Letarking with Bodyslam, you must evolve it on Saturday between 3 PM and 7 PM. It’s best to use the hour between 6 PM and 7 PM. The Community Day will already be over by then, but the move can still be learned.
How strong will Letarking be with it? Bodyslam doesn’t really make Letarking stronger. In some situations, Bodyslam is better, but it doesn’t make a huge difference. You can find a detailed analysis of this here:
Look out for these Bummelz – 100% IV
Use this weather bonus: Bummelz is a Normal type, which is boosted in partly cloudy weather. This means better IV and Bummelz up to level 35 in the wild.
How strong can the Bummelz get? Without a weather bonus, Bummelz reaches 859 CP in the wild. This would be a Bummelz at level 30 with 100% IV. With a weather bonus, it reaches 930 CP.

Here we also embed a CP bar that you can copy into your search bar. All possible 100% IV Bummelz will then be displayed. But evaluate again afterwards, as there may also be Bummelz at higher levels and with worse IV.
These items will help you on Community Day
- Incubators – 8 pieces
- During the event, egg incubators are especially useful. Regular incubators are sufficient here, as there are mainly 2 km eggs. With these, you only need to walk 500 meters
- However, make sure to put the eggs in the incubators only after the event starts. Only then does the reduced distance count.
- Star Piece – 6 pieces
- Star Pieces are always worthwhile during Community Days. Have 6 pieces ready, as one piece lasts for 30 minutes. The increased spawns then help you easily collect Stardust
- Lucky Eggs – 6 pieces
- During Community Day, the Adventure Week is also running. Here you get 10 times the XP for new PokéStops. So if you also turn new PokéStops during Community Day, a Lucky Egg is worth it too
- Lure Modules – 3 pieces or more
- As always, lure modules last for 3 hours on Community Day. So it’s worth using modules. This will lure in even more Pokémon and increase your chances of finding a Shiny Bummelz
- Balls – 200 pieces or more
- Increased spawns also cause a higher consumption of Poké Balls. So make sure to have enough balls, so you don’t run out at the end.
