How to obtain Milza
wild spawns: One way to obtain a Milza is to catch it in the wild. It is especially active during windy weather. However, encountering a wild Milza is still a matter of a lot of luck.
As PokeGirll7 writes on Twitter, she caught a wild Milza and didn’t even know she could catch any there (via twitter.com). For her, it was a new entry in the PokéDex. Other users also shared under the post that they have never seen one in the wild (via twitter.com). Trainer BernhardPoGo also emphasizes how rare Milza is (via twitter.com).
Similar experiences can also be observed on reddit, where trainer Bleghel states in his post that he could observe a higher spawn rate of Milza in New Zealand (via reddit.com). However, some players cannot understand this, as they have not discovered one yet.
This is also reflected in user Sodaim’s sarcastic response: “Milza? You mean the monster that sometimes isn’t even on our planet?” (via reddit.com). For this reason, it is advisable to connect with other players in smaller local groups and exchange information about such sightings.
Personal Pokémon: Trainers around The Silph Road have also dealt with the topic of Milza. Their collection was all about sightings at the daily spawns. This is the personal monster you receive every day when you first open the game.
This Pokémon is different for each trainer and can therefore also be a rare monster, like Milza. According to The Silph Road’s own reports, however, they had no luck in encountering one by the end of 2020 (via thesilphroad.com).
Hatching eggs: You have better chances of obtaining a Milza by hatching 10 km eggs. However, it is also well hidden there. You can already see from the probabilities under your respective egg that it is listed at the very bottom. Thus, it is the rarest monster from this egg.
Chances of Milza from eggs
The community around The Silph Road has also looked into the probabilities regarding the hatching of eggs (via thesilphroad.com). They compiled and evaluated the data of many voluntary trainers who formed a kind of test group.
The statistics are based on a total of 256 hatched 10 km eggs as of January 6, 2022. From their overview, it can be seen that Milza has a probability of 2% of hatching from such an egg.
However, not only the hatching itself poses a challenge, but also obtaining 10 km eggs, as The Silph Road has found out, is not that easy. The chance when spinning at a gym or a PokéStop is just 17.2%.

How strong is Milza in Pokémon GO
Milza can only showcase average stats in attack, defense, and stamina in its base form. Also, as seen in the overview from PvPoke, it is rather unsuitable for use in raids and the PvP league (via pvpoke.com). Its evolution Sharfax can only score with a slightly better attack.
However, taking a look at the stats of Maxax, the final evolution of Milza, the strong attack values are immediately noticeable. In defense and stamina, it is somewhat weaker, but it is still a good dragon attacker in the game. Thus, it is well suited for use in raids. In the PvP league, however, Maxax plays a less interesting role.
Shiny Milza
Is Shiny Milza already available to catch in the game? From June 4, 2022, you can find Milza in its shiny form in the game.
What does Shiny Milza look like? You recognize the shiny version of Milza by its slightly darker green color and the red band around its neck. As you can see in the following image, it is therefore slightly distinguishable from its normal form.
Even in Sharfax, the shiny can be distinctly recognized by its dark green color and blue accents. Maxax stands out in this family the most in terms of color. The shiny specimen is gray-black as shown in the image.
Is it worth catching Milza?
Given that the evolution of Milza can be convincing with its strong attack values, you have a good dragon attacker for your raid battles with Maxax. However, this is not the only reason why you should try to obtain a Milza.
As the hatching overview from The Silph Road makes clear, Milza is among the rarest monsters in Pokémon GO. This makes this Pokémon something truly special, as not every trainer has it. When hatching, you essentially only have the option of bringing many 10 km eggs to hatch.
However, you have no influence over the contents of the eggs. So, if you are lucky enough to encounter a wild Milza, you should definitely catch it.
