In Pokémon GO currently, Zekrom is present in the legendary raids. You can defeat the Pokémon fairly easily with three players. We will show you how this trio can be achieved at level 30.
How long will Zekrom be available? The legendary Pokémon does not have a specific date for when it will disappear. However, it is likely to remain in the raids for 3 weeks – that was how long Reshiram was available.
Based on that, Zekrom is expected to disappear on July 7 at 10:00 PM German time.
If you don’t have many active players around you, just three of you can attempt to battle Zekrom. With the right counters at level 30 or higher, you can defeat the legendary Pokémon.
How to defeat Zekrom with three players
Use these counters: Zekrom is a Dragon and Electric type. It is therefore weak against Dragon, Ice, Ground, and Fairy types. So focus exclusively on these Pokémon.

Use these aids: The right weather can give you a significant advantage in battle. Depending on which Pokémon are currently boosted by the weather, you can assemble a strong team.
Additionally, the friendship level among each other is important. If all three of you are best friends, you will have a significant battle advantage.
In our calculations, we only took the friendship level into account. So you can achieve the trio without the right weather.
Defeating Zekrom at Level 30 – Here’s how
Meet these conditions: Even at level 30, a trio can be quite feasible. To have a wide selection of counters, a high friendship level is mandatory. However, the friendship level is not crucial with the first Pokémon from this list.
Use these Pokémon: A total of 17 Pokémon at level 30 with the right moves are applicable here:
- Knakrack with Dragon Tail and Outrage
- Zekrom with Fire Fang and Outrage
- Dialga with Fire Fang and Draco Meteor
- Mamutel with Mud-Slap and Avalanche
- Reshiram with Fire Fang and Draco Meteor
- Palkia with Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor
- Stalobor with Mud-Slap and Drill Run
- Dragoran with Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw
- Groudon with Mud Shot and Earthquake
- Maxax with Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw
- Latios with Fire Fang and Dragon Claw
- Rayquaza with Dragon Tail and Outrage
- Demeteros with Mud Shot and Earth Power

Defeating Zekrom at Level 35 – Here’s how
Meet these conditions: At level 35, the trio is significantly easier. Here, the friendship level plays an even smaller role and the trio can be accomplished quite well.
Use these Pokémon: 8 more Pokémon are added, provided they are at level 35 and have the right moves:
- Trikephalo with Fire Fang and Dragon Pulse
- Guardevoir with Charm and Fairy Wind
- Glaziola with Ice Fang and Avalanche
- Giratina (Origin Form) with Dragon Tail and Dragon Pulse
- Togekiss with Charm and Fairy Wind
- Snibunna with Ice Shard and Avalanche
- Mewtwo with Psycho Cut and Ice Beam
- Rizeros with Mud-Slap and Earthquake
Defeating Zekrom at Level 40 – Here’s how
Meet these conditions: At the maximum level, Zekrom can be quite easily defeated with three players. The friendship level does not have to be high if you use the top counters. With the friendship level, several counters are also added.
Use these Pokémon: 4 more Pokémon that you wouldn’t typically think of can be applicable at level 40 and with the right moves for a trio:
- Granbull with Charm and Play Rough
- Donphan with Mud-Slap and Earthquake
- Golgantes with Mud-Slap and Earth Power
- Geowaz with Mud-Slap and Earthquake
How difficult will the battle be? Zekrom is one of the easier trios in Pokémon GO. However, one should not underestimate the fight and it’s best to send in your strongest monsters.
If you can’t complete the trio, adjust your counters to Zekrom’s moves. For instance, if it attacks with Dragon-type moves, prefer using Ice Pokémon. With other moves, Dragon Pokémon hold the advantage.
Additionally, you should already have 2 battle teams prepared. If your first team is defeated, do not return with the suggested team under any circumstances.
Should you do a lot of Zekrom raids? The legendary Pokémon is by far the best Electric attacker in the game. It is definitely worth doing multiple raids.
