If you don’t have many players around you, you can easily defeat it with three players already. This works even with Pokémon at level 25. Alternatively, you can also do this via remote raid.
So you defeat Reshiram with three players
Use these counters: Reshiram is of Dragon and Fire type. Therefore, effective types are Dragon, Ground, and Rock.

Focus on these aids: The friendship level between each other helps you tremendously in battle. The higher your level is, the more boost you get for damage.
The same applies to the weather. If your Pokémon benefit from the right weather, they deal more damage.
However, we did not consider the weather in our calculations. The friendship level is crucial here.
Defeating Reshiram at Level 25 – Here’s how
Meet these requirements: A high friendship level is a must here. If you are not hyper friends with each other, we do not recommend attempting the raid with three. Otherwise, it is quite doable with the right Pokémon.
Use these Pokémon: Only 4 Pokémon at level 25 with the right moves are eligible to defeat Reshiram in a trio:
- Rihornior with Mud Shot and Rock Throw
- Knakrack with Dragon Tail and Outrage
- Maxax with Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw
- Palkia with Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor
Defeating Reshiram at Level 30 – Here’s how
Meet these requirements: Here, the friendship level is still important, but the trio also works without it. However, if you want more alternatives in battle, you should focus on the important friendship level.
Use these Pokémon: If you are best friends with each other, you can additionally use the following 10 Pokémon:
- Rayquaza with Dragon Tail and Outrage
- Dialga with Fire Spin and Draco Meteor
- Brutalanda with Dragon Tail and Outrage
- Terrakium with Catapult and Rock Slide

Meet these requirements: The trio with Pokémon at level 35 becomes quite easy. The friendship level no longer matters. However, here too, those who want more variation should pay attention to the important level.
