For a few days now, we can battle Kyurem in Pokémon GO. This is already possible with two players when using the right counters. We will show you how to do this.
How long will Kyurem be available? You still have some time to challenge the legendary Pokémon. An exact end date is not known yet, but if it is available for a similar length as Reshiram and Zekrom , it should be available until about July 28.
If you don’t have enough players nearby or don’t want to benefit from the raid invitations, you can already defeat Kyurem with two players. This is even possible with Pokémon at level 35.
How to defeat Kyurem with two players
Use these counters: Kyurem is an Ice and Dragon type, making it weak against Fighting, Steel, Rock, Fairy, and Dragon types.

Use these aids: The duo against Kyurem is quite challenging. Therefore, you should rely on no less than 2 aids.
With the friendship level among yourselves, you give each other a battle bonus. The higher the level, the higher the bonus.
The same applies to the weather. If your Pokémon benefit from the weather bonus, they are also a bit stronger in battle.
We have only focused on the friendship level here. So you can also manage the duo without the weather bonus. However, you should consider it, as it makes the battle easier.
Defeating Kyurem at Level 35 – This is how it’s done
Meet these requirements: The battle will be quite tricky, and a high friendship level is a must. You should also have enough Revives ready and have already assembled your battle team before the raid.
Use these Pokémon: There are only 3 Pokémon to choose from, which should be at level 35 and have the right moves. However, be prepared to revive them more often:
- Metagross with Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash
- Lucario with Counter and Aura Sphere
- Meistagrif with Counter and Dynamic Punch
Defeating Kyurem at Level 40 – This is how it’s done
Meet these requirements: With the counters mentioned above, the battle will be somewhat more relaxed, but you should not underestimate it. If you want a bit more diversity in your team, you should still rely on best friends.
Use these Pokémon: 3 more Pokémon can strengthen your team. However, you shouldn’t have much fewer Revives:
- Dialga with Metal Claw and Draco Meteor
- Rhyperior with Smack Down and Stone Edge
- Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch
What you should keep in mind: Kyurem’s moves are also important in the battle. For example, if it knows Dragon Claw, you can even bring more Pokémon. With Draco Meteor, it becomes a bit more difficult. However, the Pokémon mentioned here should be able to handle any moveset from Kyurem.
